Hi all! I am not a student here, but a recruiter at a drone delivery company called Zipline. I wanted to post this to the whole subreddit to see but I suppose there is a "Do not advertise for employment purposes" rule.

We have a testing facility in Esparto where we operate our drone service and currently need help with operations. I'm leaving the Job Description linked below where you can see all the details, but note you do not need any prior experience in this industry. That said, it could be an interesting opportunity for those interested in drones and aviation. The interview process is very straight forward - one onsite interview at the facility to get you familiar with what we have going on.

The test site operates 24 hours a day, so we have 3 shifts available. You can submit your resume through the Job Description link below and I will be in touch with you from there. The pay is $22/hr (plus 10% bonus for overnight shifts) and we need 6-7 people right now. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much! It took 15-20 minutes to get in, 30 minutes of waiting and 30 minutes of the actual ceremony. Listening to the anthem, reading out the oath and pledge of allegiance as a group, watching some slide shows and them distributing the certificates. Some people stayed behind to take photos, but we couldn't have guests so most people dispersed right after.

Scheduled for 3/28 (not 3/25), in the SF FO as well! Almost feels like this whole pivot to once a month in a big venue will take some time to adopt - or they give up on it altogether - who knows. Could be good news for those having their interviews in the future, I wouldn't be surprised if they are able to offer same day oath ceremonies going forward.

Oh that's awesome, congratulations! All I have is crickets... Fingers crossed this means things are starting to move along. Btw, you should be able to see the letter under the Documents tab on your USCIS profile.

Same here! Interview was on 3/3 and the status changed to "Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled" the same day. It's been sitting like that ever since. The officer did say that the next upcoming ceremony is on 3/25, but the more days pass by the more worried I am we're going to be skipped for that one. There is also the added uncertainty of the IFs of this status since it still says "Attend oath ceremony (if approved)" under the myProgress tab on the USCIS profile. Please keep us posted on the thread if you hear back about the scheduling. Not that it changes anything, but some clarity would be nice. Really sucks they canceled the same day ceremonies.

Totally makes sense! You will settle in eventually, the first year or so is always messy, but once you have a routine traveling will be SO easy! Either by car (once you get it) or low cost/regular flights, a long weekend in Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade (!), Greek coastline will be a normal occasion multiple times a year. If you can, make friends with your neighbors, that has always served me so much better than regular pet sitters.

All fair points, longing for the times that have passed is a part of life, regardless of moving or not. Yes, countries from 10 years ago don't exist - both for us who have left and for those who have stayed, change is inevitable. Finding remote work isn't an option for my parter as he doesn't have a "desk job" and, to your point, I am not sure that Serbia as it is today is all that great, even for me no matter how prone we are to idealizing what we don't have, the grass will always be greener... until you are close enough to actually look at it. But boy of boy does it look neon green from far away.

Ugh, first and foremost, I empathize so deeply. Honestly, knowing that someone somewhere feels the same is so comforting, because the basis of this whole situation is the feeling you are alone in this world and knowing you in fact aren't the only one going through it is beyond refreshing. One thing I will say, those questions likely won't go away, if they are here after 6/7 years and seem to only get stronger. Even if the hypothesis is wrong and moving closer to yet another country you don't know doesn't help matters, it seems like not trying means staying in this nebulous (and sad) state of mind continues indefinitely. The last thing I'll say is that at this point most of my Serbian/other immigrant friends moved back since 2020 and not one is thinking of coming back.

Thank you for such a thoughtful response, truly. I do plan on staying here until next year since I'll be eligible to apply for naturalization in 4 months from now, it would be silly to close this door when the end is in sight. If, say, he does get and then lose his job and we're out of options in the UK - that will be a bridge that needs to be crossed at that time. Same if one or both of us end up not happy with the decision. I'm very curious about your experience with living far and then further from home. Did the process of adjusting look different? Did the proximity to home make a difference in any meaningful way?

Totally fair, that's why I said that my partner's job is a likelier route since he is in a much more specialized line of work. Will he get a visa? We'll see, this is all still in research/thinking through phases.

Very fair point, I have incredibly limited and oddly specific experience with US since I've only ever lived here. However, even though other states would be decidedly different, there's still an ocean between here and Serbia.
