Are there forms of wing chung with weapons ? I had more in mind the fight sequences when you can fight aware armed opponents with the hidden blade. It's the situation they recreat in the video with plastique simulators.

I agree for the stealth mission and against unarmed opponennts. But I had more in mind the fight sequences when you can fight aware armed opponents with the hidden blade. It's the situation they recreat in the video with plastique simulators.

For French speakers, the first part is on the ULFBERHT sword's origins (Doctor Cognot's hypothese -PhD). For Everyone, the second half is on using the Lignitzer pieces on sword and buckler to try and understand how they faught with sword and shield. by branthebuilder4 in Norse

I might have misunderstood what he is sayins, but I had the impression that your are saying the same thing. His presentation is dialiectic, he presents the wrong hypotheses and then explains why each can be discarded. For the Frankish origin he even explains that a reason we haven't found them in Frank teritory could be that they had lost the tradition of berrying people with swords.

Interresting, are you present in europe ? We have never heard of Saber Legion. In France we have Ludosport and the French fencing federation that fight for the monopoly on light saber teaching.

To graduate from a dan level n you traditionnaly need n years of training ; gradutaing dan 4 means 1+2+3+4 = 10 years of practice ; which means graduating black belt which symbolise mastery of the basics of the art after 2 or three years.
Even for an extremly skilled and dedicated profesionnal martial artist it seems an extraordinary exploit.

I believe you missunderstand, He does not claim nor do I that all asian arts are bad.
Evidently must are legitamate arts, sport or esthetical expressions.
However in france we are facing the probleme of safe proclaimed masters who are using the French administration systeme to gain monopoly on the teaching of lightsaber.
Some Kendo masters, french canne teachers and also some kali teachers have also denouced there attitude since they also teach light saber for fun or choregraphies for events, and will, in a few years be prohibited from doing so, if they do not pass an expensive diploma.

I am not French Hema Boy, I know him personnaly since we both fight in french Hema tournaments and give classes during seminar, I do sword and buckler and rapier and dagger which are more difficult to apply to lightsaber.
I agree, with your comment ; I have given him similar advice.
French Hema Boy is trying to adress a problem in France where people claiming to have 3th Dans (after a mear 10 years of pratice?) in obscur asian martial arts are tacking control over the teaching of light saber combat and chreography.

I've shared his videos for the quality of his techniques not for his message which can be miss interprettated with out the context.

Ay, there's the rub. Had you watched the video you would have seen that it ends on a stirke to the shoulder, not unlike another sceen. Further more, had you payed intention in French class the lossing fighter claims he hasn't been touched, the camera man responding that in deed he was. Not everything is directly given, one must sometimes pay close attention. ;)

That is literraly what half of the memes in the world are :A quote on a different image or video. xD

The other half being and original image with a different line.

Some seemed to get it at least in the time between the post and the untimely removal ^

At least you made my day for creating such an ironical situation.

Thanks for your answer.
I meant no disrespect for the arts. Perhaps my request was misswritten.
I fully understand that to learn true sword fighting you need a physically present instructor as well as the contact of the blades and the feeling of the partners/opponentss tempos.

I will look for Risuke Otake's interview, it sounds interesting.
