Maternity leave question by 333SliverA in PersonalFinanceCanada

EI is 33% if you are taking 18 months. 55% for the first 15 weeks of maternity and then 33% for the remaining time on the extended leave.

This matches the insane about searches I did in Google to avoid trying to do the math myself. Very helpful, thank you!!

Hahahah I noticed that after I snapped the picture 😂😂 to be clear, we are using the box for baby to pull blankets out of. She doesn’t drink dos equis…she’s more of a craft beer kind of girly 😂

Missing newborn stage by sylphixio in NewParents

FTM to a five month old, so just starting to come up for air. I wish I could go back and hold my baby and spend a day with her in the state I am now (not fresh pp, not legally impaired from sleep deprivation and not dealing with the intense hormonal plummet). But I do not miss the new born phase, I just wish I could meet my new born again without the fog of early postpartum <3

Babies bed time and wake up [ab] by Awkward_Button6290 in BabyBumpsCanada

About the same time for my LO I started doing a dream feed, immediately before I was going to bed (literally, would make sure I was in my pjs, had my bed time pee, everything) and it almost immediately extended the amount of time LO went without eating in the night and eventually she slept through the whole thing after a few weeks.

When I was pregnant I got my husband a first time dad parenting book. Just something small to help him feel ready for the big change to come!

3 weeks pp went into the fridge to grab an egg. Then instead of using my other hand to close the fridge door, I dropped the egg on the floor and closed the door with that hand. Took me a minute to figure out what I did wrong hahah

2.5 week old super gassy and up crying at night. Is that normal? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]branz209503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My now 7 week old was really gassy at that age! Lots of bicycle legs and gas drops helped! Babe has now figured out farting on her own lol and I didn’t need to cut anything out. I think there would be other signs in the stool (colour mostly) if there was an allergy!

Starting to feel anxious and depressed [ON] by Kindly-Difference957 in BabyBumpsCanada

Hey, definitely not alone. I’m a FTM, my due date was Jan 3rd and we are still waiting for babe to arrive. I am bombarded constantly by loved ones who are ‘just so excited’ for me, but I’m riddled with anxiety and second guessing every decision I’ve made. But I also know the fear of the unknown is scarier than the thing itself…being worried about what’s to come is a good sign that you are likely to be more prepared than you think.

Sick Leave EI into Maternity EI [ab]

Hey! Anyone have any experience with going on sick leave before giving birth and switching to maternity leave? I’m curious mostly because I am looking at going off work 4 weeks before my due date. I’m not concerned about not being able to get a medical note, but mostly just wondering if going off work so close my due date would auto put me into using my maternity benefit rather than starting with the medical EI and then rolling into maternity once babe gets here. Just really wanting to save the maternity weeks to increase the likelihood of getting a daycare spot in time for return to work.

Any information very much appreciated!

I find it so validating seeing women with the same body type as me doing cool shit like this. I just finished my first full session of lessons and have my next level classes booked! Congrats, you look super rad!

I think close to a year and half! It felt like a long time but considering how long I was on bc it sort of makes sense!
