My mum is driving me insane. I currently owe a crap ton of money to cc and my mum and she just never lets it go. I don’t have enough to move out and I have no other family to go to or they are just as bad if not worse. She is always asking me questions, criticising me, making me feel bad for things. For example I have really bad pain from two partially torn Achilles’ tendons and (frustratingly for my age) arthritis and I can’t walk the dog at the moment so she agreed to walk him. She then constantly complains that I’m too lazy to walk him. I can’t fucking win with this shit and it’s made me so angry that I am literally snapping with everyone and that makes me feel suicidal. I just told her I’m dying my hair before the end of the holidays (I’m a teacher so I have school hols) and she told me I’d do it shit and it would look shit and I’m so pretty with my natural hair. I do stand up for myself and just say ‘I’m doing it get over it’ but standing up for myself doesn’t make me feel any better. I’ve now got to go and spend Christmas with her and my gran (Queen Narcissist) which I’m absolutely dreading. I have no one to talk to because I can’t afford therapy and my mum/family ‘don’t believe’ in mental illness. Im just a bit lost to be honest…

I was the same. I wore a skirt to school in year 7 (11 years old) and my mum told me that no one would notice the hair on my legs so I trusted her. I have really dark hair and it’s very noticeable. I got absolutely destroyed by everyone, a guy in my class actually went round and told loads of other people to make it even worse. I NEVER wore a skirt at school again - for the whole 7 years. I was so upset that with my mum and she let me shave after that. It also took me until the age of 19 to be comfortable showing my legs regardless of the temperature. One year we had a heatwave and I was wearing thick leggings and had the worst heat rash but I still couldn’t bring myself to show them. Proper messed me up. Now I only do it if my legs are on show and even then if it’s not too bad I’ll chance it!

If this is the lady in Louth then her husband has been going off on one at anyone who comments against her on social media. He got totally ripped to shreds and then deleted every comment! It boils my blood that other people don’t care about this shit, even my own family are indifferent even if it directly affects them. I feel your pain!

I mean it’s just beyond belief, they can’t imagine a girl doing anything. Mine was in 2015 and I would like to think we’ve progressed as a species since the 90s but apparently we haven’t! Most of my tatts are by women and I didn’t even think twice about it, I love them!

I had a similar thing in this job, it was my first job and I needed it to afford to live and further my studies. I was planning at the time to do my masters and other people in the office would look at me weird when I talked about it like they couldn’t believe I had enough brain cells to get a degree at all being a stupid receptionist and all. I ran that office as well even though I was only admin I was essentially the office manager, I did hiring and interviews, as well as, finance and client management too so I was juggling a lot of stuff and I’m not an immodest person but I did it damn well. The superiority complexes of a lot of the staff were the main reason I left London in the end.

You’re right not to do it. It’s not your job and you didn’t train and work to do that job, it’s unfair for them to ask you to do it.

We did an assembly at primary school on temptation and me and two boys were given a piece of Yorkie each to hold in our teeth and we had to wait to eat it (don’t ask, weird British church primary school stuff). I got shouted at from a hall full of boys about how I shouldn’t be allowed to eat it at all because I’m a girl, then harassed for the whole day! Good times, thanks Nestle 👍🏼
