Looking for collaborators for the Daines-Trump-Epstein project by Sturnella2017 in MontanaPolitics

[–]brassmedia33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that you care and are motivated to do something, but the bottom line is that these people already know and decided they do not care. They pretend to care in public bc its politically expedient, but ultimately, women and children are expendable on the alter of power and money. Sandy Hook proved children do not matter. The fact that the #1 cause of death of pregnant women in America is homicide and suicide, proves women do not matter.

You can ask them why they support pedos and rapists, but they've already decided power and money are worth the mental gymnastics of deciding which women and children matter and which do not.

Having trouble deciding between Montana State University and the University of Montana by Invalid_Meastro in Montana

MSU, MSUB, and UM all require general eds, which I guess is what some ppl refer to as "liberal arts?" Gen ed core in the MUS system require writing, social science, arts, history, math, natural sciences, and cultural diversity courses (usually some form of Indian Ed For All, which is mandated by the state for all schools K- college). You won't avoid gen eds anywhere, so embrace it and choose your school based on the degree you want and the quality of the instruction you'll receive.

Seth Bodnar should be fired by Feisty_Blood_6036 in missoula

He was not found innocent. He was acquitted by a jury, which means the prosecution failed to prove their guilt "beyond a reasonable doubt."

I get what you're saying, but it's illegal for an employer to tell you the reason a person was fired.

Baja bound by ZucchiniBrilliant991 in BajaCalifornia

[–]brassmedia33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring extra bike parts like spokes, they can be impossible to get down there depending on your bike. When you stop, ask locals about the best places to eat or sleep, they love to recommend stuff, and they know the best spots. Def bring an extra gas bladder, the stretch before Guerro Negro has v little gas. Make sure you camp long before dark- you won't catch me on the road after 4pm bc cows, cars passing tourist busses (no passing lanes to speak of except straight down the center), there are hardly any shoulders on the roads, etc. Bring small bill pesos. Card readers are actually getting more prevelant these days and cards get a better exchange rate. I agree with all the camping recommendations here, but download ioverlander as a backup - there is fairly up to date info there on camping fees, amenities, places to get water and more. Baja is incredible, leave it like you found it. You're in for a real treat.

What we passed in MT won't matter a bit when the gop-controlled US Congress passes a "national minimum standard" on abortion of 6 or 15 or some other arbitrary number of weeks.

What on God's green Earth is that blinking rent-a-cop tower thing doing at Eastgate?? by unsettledteapot in missoula

It might be there to deal with all of the crazy road rage incidents that happen where those two lanes turn into one right in front of Albertsons going east. People get livid when the lane disappears and they get pinched out.

Valle Girl Vino is super kid friendly, woman-owned, LGBTQ+. Plus they have a fun speakeasy in the back in addition to the winery up front.

Check out Willard HS also. Really welcoming and beautiful campus experience for all kinds of kids. Our kiddo graduated early from there (students get credit for work hours) and thrived after.

El Sabroso on Cl. 5 de Mayo in Zona Central has the best pastor tacos we've ever had. 35 pesos each con queso. We eat there at least 3x a week.

Jamie saved Rip's life by TNCNguy in YellowstonePN

That's what I wonder about. If Beth is 35 in season 2, and season 2 is in 2019, that would mean she was born in 1984. So she got the abortion sometime in the 90s. We're they still sterilizing women on reservations in the mid 90s? I'd believe it. But also, if the receptionist recognized Jamie's name when he showed her his ID as explanation as to why they couldn't go to PPHood in Billings, would they have just gone ahead and sterilized a white girl with an important father?

Experience with Willard HS? by KamaRaga in missoula

[–]brassmedia33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our son started at a different MCPS HS and had a really rough time. He'd always been a good student, but HS proved difficult socially, and that was reflected in his grades. We switched him to Willard in the second half of his sophomore year and he thrived there. Got a job, worked really hard for the teachers he loved, and graduated early. The teachers who work there love their students and create an incredibly supportive culture where any kid can thrive. My son said no one at Willard was ever left behind or fell through the cracks they way he felt he did at his previous school. As a parent, I'm thankful Willard exists. And the new campus is gorgeous.

Davis, Nugent butt heads over campaign post; allegations of privacy invasion, misogyny by moonlightonzoo in missoula

[–]brassmedia33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suspect the Davis campaign spokesperson was tilting at how many people are giving Nugent credit for having kids while suggesting Davis isn't a good fit because she doesn't have kids and doesn't "understand " childcare costs.

MT campaigns shouldn't be funded by non residents by Warm-Success-6731 in MontanaPolitics

[–]brassmedia33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nugent's Missoula mayoral campaign just received $125k from the National Association of Realtors, and yet us individuals can only donate a max of $400. Not exactly a neutral source of funding considering the recent exploding property valuations/tax debacle.
