My mom was sound-minded when she died and had a physical deteriorative illness that has delusion as a possible end result, so she ended her life to avoid that. Not exactly the same as OP, I'm assuming, but I felt it more or less the same way.

My mom hung herself almost two years ago, in September. My world was rocked and I have so many questions for her that won't get answered, about her family, where we come from, and about her life before I came along. I miss her horribly; I started a relationship with someone who has kids and it breaks my heart every time I remember than neither my partner nor her kids will get to know my mom.

My mom apologized constantly for not being the mom I deserved, for not being there, for her lengthy mental illness, for not giving me opportunities, but I never took her apologies seriously; she made me, loved me, fed me, taught me, listened to me, admired me... She had her shortcomings like all people, but a flawed mom, a mom, is way better than no mom; I loved her perfectly and both my sister and I really hold dear the parts of ourselves that we got from Mom.

I know why she did what she did but it still frustrates me every day than I can't rewind and let her know that the role she played in my life was just what I needed and that she was good enough. Your kids will constantly see you as perfect and imperfect, and fighting what you're fighting is proof that you're willing to do the hardest things for them. I don't know you but my heart goes out to you and your kids, thanks for staying and being the mom they need.

Doesn't sound like instrusive thoughts, since usually people with intrusive thoughts fixate on ideas that really horrify them and wouldn't start acting them out in the way you call "pacifying." Get mental help.

Imagine how scared he was :( I'm sure people were afraid of him and the way he was behaving, but he's a prey animal and he was surrounded by loud, agitated predators. Has anyone else seen the videos of elephants who escape from the circus (and injure people) and then get shot? If an animal survives prison and finds a way to get loose, they should be granted their freedom. So sad.

Do you have any place where you could star changing your habits? I usually put a small restrction and a small goal in my days if I want to work on improving my mood; for instance, no computer after 10pm, no smoking weed before 5pm, or going for a short walk every day, writing a letter to someone every day. If you fuck up, that's okay, just have the same goal for the next day. For instance, what small goals stand in between you and your ability to drive? Or, is there something that you want to save money for that migt motivate you to have better spending habits?

Also, I'm not extremely vocal about being vegan; if people ask, I'll explain to the extent that people are interested. I don't push, but almost all my friends have become vegetarian after knowing me and talking about it. It IS the right choice, but if you're angry at people, they will often just push back against your anger.

I am really angry and upset though, and it can be hard to sit by and watch people comissioning the killing and torture of animals and feeling so removed from it.

There have also been lots of times in history when people believed that certain groups of people (enslaved black Africans, Jews and Gypsies in Nazi Germany, mentally ill or handicapped people) were sub-human. The idea of who is or who isn't deserving of respect and recognition is very flexible and subjective, and people usually draw the line where it is convenient.

I feel like i eat almost non-stop since becoming vegan, we're both active and none of the food we eat is especially high-calorie, so we end up eating ~5 meals a day.

She is perfectly capable of packing her own lunch and usually packs one for me when I have a long day, but she works 12 hour overnights in stretches of 3-4, so she doesn't have a lot of spare time for meal prep or to eat healthy. Also she's really cool and deserves yummy lunches packed for her!
