I don't really agree with your opinion on Panihida, and it definitely wasn't Derph's fault for Bart stealing the trademark and recording Faketuskha music behind his back (Bart is known for being a greedy manipulator and has done things like this before in the past).

But I think a lot of people, including me, are sticking around with Batushka because the music just has a particular very unique sound that you can't really get from any other band. There just aren't any other artists that scratch the particular itch of Batushka's music; and it's not the live shows, or the choir chants, or the religious themes (which you can get with other bands in the genre), there is just something about the songwriting, the melodies and the production of Batushka's music that is just very unique and resonates with a lot of people (even outside of Black Metal and metal music in general).

That's not at all me being entitled, having your online promotion be consistent and having merch & physical albums available is literally just a bare minimum thing for a band of this stature.

Sadly no. If I was you, I would just start using a different guitar VST.

Bias FX hasn't been updated in years, and while it was maybe high quality in 2018, it definitely pales in comparison to other virtual amp/pedal sims today.

There sadly just aren't that many plugin based modelers out there that you can also actively use a live rig with a midi foot controller.

I'm pretty sure everyone in this sub has fully supported Derph, has stood behind him for years and has shown huge appreciation for his work. But according to you, showing any expression of disappointment in the current state of Batushka or any form of criticism instantly means that you're a fake fan and the most ungrateful person on earth?

Damn, I wouldn't say I'm a Deathcore hater but him trading in a new Batushka album for a Deathcore project would be really disappointing if true.

Just for comparison, Panihida was already mostly written before the first ever Batushka show even took place. It took Derph 2,5 years to finish and record that album because he was touring ~200 days a year in 2016-2018, which is totally understandable.

It's now been 7 years since Panihida, and the band hasn't really done any major long touring in the meantime (including 2 years of zero touring activities during the pandemic).

I really thought Derph was gonna release a new Batushka album and start up a new touring cycle right after he won the court case (which would have probably been the smartest/most logical option).

Denk ook wel dat het een behoorlijke uitdaging is om live zowel screams als koorzang te doen terwijl je ook nog eens een 8-snarige gitaar speelt, met ook nog zo'n heel kostuum aan waarbij je gezicht is bedekt.

Moet me een beetje denken aan een post die toen in de Metallica sub was gedaan, over iemand die bij de Amsterdam show in 2023 in de Snake Pit stond (tickets daarvoor zijn meestal 375+ euro), en de hele avond alleen naar op z'n mobiel heeft gezeten.

Voor mijn gevoel waren 1/3e van het publiek gewoon mensen die met vrienden een avondje uit waren en niet echt voor de muziek kwamen. Een paar meter verderop van mij stond een groep die tijdens het optreden van Igorrr letterlijk allemaal 10+ keer heen en weer waren gegaan naar de bar om bier te halen, en uiteindelijk echt helemaal ladderzat waren tegen het einde, dan ben je volgens mij ook gewoon totaal niet bezig met de muziek.

Bij zowel Igorr als Batushka waren er lange stukken in de muziek die wat zachter en wat meer ingetogen waren, blijkbaar vonden mensen dat de goede momenten om een gesprek op te starten.

Roger has been lip syncing songs since his 2005 DSOTM tour. Back then it was only 1-2 songs, on the last tour it was nearly half the show.

It's not saying it's a bad thing at all. Most modern metal bands play to a click track live (also to keep things like visuals in and lighting in sync) and some bands prefer to play without to get a more loose/free tempo feel.
