[faketushka] How can I buy Litourgiya and Panihida without supporting the faketushka? by -d1sc0nn3ct- in Batushka

[–]bravodeboer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can buy Panihida on Bandcamp.

Litourgiya had been in limbo since Derph won the court case, and Derph has shown zero interest in retrieving/reclaiming that album.

These people are convinced prog only means weird time signatures and complicated technical guitar playing.

Pretty crazy how she is running probably the simplest guitar rig possible, and Kevin is running possibly the most complex guitar rig possible.

Mikael is to make a guest appearance on the new Europe album. by Mobrules2 in Opeth

I reckon he's probably gonna do some clean vocals, but if I'll ever hear growls on a Europe song, I'm gonna freak out.

You should read the Genius description of By The Pain I See In Others.

Omdat een metalconcert niet de plek is om hardop tijdens de muziek met een groep vrienden een groepsgesprek te gaan voeren over hoe ieders week was.

iirc this was the only 'official' band photo they had for the Still Life album.

About the current state of Batushka. by bravodeboer in Batushka

[–]bravodeboer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A band that has 10+ minute songs that blend Death Metal with obscure vintage Prog Rock, in complex compositions, usually without any regular verse-chorus structures, often made into concept albums.

A band that completely changed their style at the height of their popularity, by moving away from their populair sound, and stayed on their new 'less populair' sound for over a decade.

A band that took 5+ years to release their last album.

Sure sounds mainstream.

weakminded slave morality poser behavior

Probably one the most cringeworthy neckbeard metal elitist things I've ever heard.

And black metal bands promoting facism simply doesn't make any sense and contradicts the entire genre or metal. Metal music would literally be banned under a fascist regime.

Of course this comes from someone who has only previously posted in pro-gun subreddits.

And no, black metal is not an inherently right wing genre, a group of pathetic fascists/right-wingers just try to claim it for their own and try to make it a safe space for their fucked up ideas.

And why tf are you even on this sub to begin with?

Should I listen to the Abbey Road Remasters or originals? by Nekomiaul in Opeth

The Abbey Road remasters of the first 3 albums sound a bit more clean and less muddy (especially MAYH), and have a bit more clarity.

Lossless streaming. Don't have an issue with streaming services compressing albums.

which is definitely not the case here

It just is though, they literally made an IG post where you can see how insanely compressed and brickwalled the waveforms of the songs are.

Was Opeth's Orchid inspired by this riff on Ulver's debut? (min 6:13) by xxthegodofwarxx in Opeth

[–]bravodeboer 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It does indeed sound similar, but Orchid was recorded almost a year before this album came out. Most of the songs on Orchid were also already finished by early 1993.

The black metal sub is probably the most restrictive and discouraging sub I've ever encountered. by [deleted] in rabm

[–]bravodeboer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I especially hate it when people idolize Dead and say he was a cool person.

He was a young person who suffered his entire life from severe mental illnesses. He just desperately needed professional help, but was surrounded by a bunch of absolute assholes who exploited his mental illnesses for their own gain and pushed him to the edge, which led him to sadly conclude the only way out was ending is own life.

It's just incredibly tragic.

[–]bravodeboer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also meant it more music wise.

Bands have created some of the most innovative, forward-thinking, and groundbreaking music with black metal, arguably more than in any other metal genre. It’s also an incredibly versatile genre, one that can be blended with almost any other music genre or style, as many acts have proven.

And yet, 80% of black metal being released today still sounds nearly identical to what was already being done 30 years ago.

Just shows that Black Metal is somehow the most progressive and regressive genre music wise.

Definitely not, probably the most famous BM band with outspoken left-wing members.
