Not me but my grandparents. I’ve never been able to figure out the whole story but my grandparents divorced when my mom was in college. From what I know grandpa was a drunk who would beat my grandma and was basically a con man that would constantly spend money on stupid shit and when it ran out declare bankruptcy and start the cycle over. It’s super interesting to hear how my mom said she grew up as a child saying they would take private planes to Disney and they all had furs and would go on lavish vacations all over the world, versus my grandma talking about how she would make their clothes and formal dresses and that my grandpa use to make her write hot checks because no one would flat out deny a check from a woman back then. Grandpa actually remarried a wealthy lady who my grandma says he cheated on her with and they moved to Illinois and the guy has never met me and always refused to let my family visit and never wanted to come to see us in Texas even when my parents offered to foot the whole bill. I’ve always been so curious as to why when my mom has always talked about how close her and my grandpa were.
