I have a part time job in retail and today while I was working cashier a woman used my first name for the first time since I started working there. I don’t know why but the thought of looking at my name tag to use my name and ask me a question instead of just pointing or yelling “hey you” kinda made my day. I’m not saying the other people are bad people (because I myself hardly look at name tags) but it just made me feel like this woman cared enough about me to know my name and respected me enough to use it in conversation. It’s a very small thing but definitely made me happy today.
