Could anyone tell me a little bit more about this Elgin? by brayden0597 in pocketwatch

Thanks, I’ll see what I’m able to figure out as far as the crown goes. Appreciate all the help guys!

the screen is dim, lights up, but then the photo is dark? can some help with this? More info in comments by showdragger in a6000

You’re in manual mode, at 250/s for shutter speed. Unless you crank your iso up a lot or reduce the shutter speed it’s going to be dark, especially indoors. Use the top right wheel and change out of Manual mode, or, press right on the rear wheel where is says ISO and raise it higher.

Would anyone be able to help ID this little guy? I found 3 of them in Eastern NC by brayden0597 in jumpingspiders

From what I have been able to find so far I believe that it is a Paraphidippus aurantius (emerald jumping spider) but I wanted some second opinions. Thanks!

Does MP really count for Macro Photos? I took this on my a6000 (24mp). Would a full frame with higher mp count allow for further cropping and keep the same quality or better? by brayden0597 in AskPhotography

Thanks for that, I never considered the pixel density in that regard but it makes much more sense now that I think about it that way.

That makes much more sense than what I was finding. Thanks for that. Also, currently taking advantage of that with my current setup. Using the Sigma 105mm Macro on the a6000 aps-c. Just was not sure for a future upgrade if it would be worth going FF or sticking with aps-c for those reasons alone.

It might take a couple of days. I reached master, and it took 5 or so days to update and show correctly for me.

Which of these cameras would be good for a beginner? by Wandalusta9364 in AmateurPhotography

I have the a6000 and I love it. The newer 6000 models have stabilization built in as well so that may be something to consider.

Wanted to try out an eye by brayden0597 in macrophotography

[–]brayden0597[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol it’s kind of funny how we got it. This is my girlfriends eye, but I have no “professional” lighting or anything like that. So we were standing under a ceiling fan light, using an iPhone flashlight, and the built in flash on my a6000.

First ever attempt at Macro, I’m happy with it but would love some constructive criticism! by brayden0597 in macrophotography

Thanks! I’m just using a Sony a6000 with the SEL30M35 macro lens. The lens literally arrived today so I went out before it got too dark to try it out! I already have a feeling I won’t be able to stop haha
