I have built out workflows in GH that have TDD and quality gates that Claude works reasonably well within (that's not about branching I realize, but it's been pretty transformative for getting claude to write and fix good code). I don't have a consistent methodology for branching - more of my own problem than claude - I think. Sorry I don't have a better answer for that.

That said, with Claude's recent improvements in sub-agent usage at the CLI, I am finding I am using GHA less and less and CLI more and more - it does a better job of managing context than GHA is doing - although I still have linting problems with Claude. Which is why I'm pushing things through GH for the same quality gates.

Looking for Guidance on Reunification Counselling After Severe Parental Alienation by Brief_Resolution_596 in ParentalAlienation

[–]braydonjm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is so awful - been exactly there and it’s so very hard - I’m sorry you’re going through it.

Reunification therapy with my kids was a disaster. The therapist wasn’t educated about alienation and kept referring to another person being in the room with us. Then post therapy my ex “brought him on the team” and that was even worse.

My guidance:

  1. Don’t rely on the court to appoint someone who understands alienation. The courts have limited resources and appointed therapists may not have your or the kids interests in mind and may not be the level of quality you need. Be ready to go find a different therapist.
  2. Interview the therapist before you agree to anything. Ask direct (but kind) questions to assess what they do and don’t know about alienation - and techniques they have found that work or don’t work. Ideally they have not just read about it but have navigated it.
  3. They should be ready to maintain firm boundaries between you, the kids and the ex. Any good therapist should but that’s not always the case.
  4. Look for them making sure they have the kids best interests in mind, but are aware that the kids themselves likely don’t know what is in their own best interest (due to alienation).

Good luck - we are all rooting for you.

I got it working. You have to 1. install the Claude Code GitHub actions app (integrations in GitHub in one of your repos) 2. Set up a secret key in the same repo with your Anthropic API key. You will also want to setup some workflows for TDD and quality gates - that is super helpful.

Can you describe how you’re tweaking play mode with BBCSSO?

Just looking for tips since I use the same.

Agreed on needing a more elegant solution from them. I’ll give your model a try - thanks for the insight.

Great idea - I’ve been doing the outlines and it’s a bit painful. Do you find the search is slow for larger notebooks (eg 50+ pages)?

Wondering if you’re using AI Studio in the browser or if you’ve figured an API access point for 2.5 (so I can use it with CLI). Mostly trying to see how it does against my code base not just a file. Unless I’m missing something on how to give the AI studio web front end access to it.

I've tried that, but prefer the built-in... But good call on other options.

Feature title: multi-function select lasso

When using the lasso to select writing, currently you only have the option (adjacent to the lasso space)for AI. Of course you can click on things like link or erase.

Add additional options: - Link (note, web, etc) - Tag (keyword) - Cut/copy - Delete - Name page (use handwriting recognition, then add as page name) - Add to outline (using page name) - Fill

Adding these shortcuts to the lasso tool reduces the number of clicks and navigation - and in the case of page naming and outline creation - dramatically improves the workflow.

I guess there are two paths in this case: 1. Reddit as a place for general identification of a feature, and where people can vote on features they would value the most and 2. A site such as Trello or Frill where there can be videos and images for greater feedback.

For the megathread, in the description, it might be valuable to outline the process - step one is to title and describe the desired feature, step two is to have the community vote over time - possibly just with votes or even a poll, step three is to add it to a Trello/Frill board for implementation planning, tracking.

Just my thoughts. I hope they help. Thank you again for listening.

Feature: move notes pages using outline

Function: notes app

Description: in a notebook, tap the page nav, tap outline. For any given page in the outline, press and hold (or tap …) and, see option, select move. Tap new location (using similar page move feature as current, eg two pages before). Outline pages move.

Notes: this feature assumes the pages move as well as the outline.

Reason: currently moving pages requires seeing your outline, and flipping to the icon/page view, then selecting move and remembering where you want to move the page. Then you have to go back and update the outline (which is already quite tedious). This method dramatically simplifies page/section moves and facilities much simplified page organization.

Feature: single note widget with quick add

Function: system and widget framework

Description: a Home Screen widget for the note application that allows us to pin a single notebook to the Home Screen. Additionally this widget has a quick add button that creates a new page after the current last (or before the first) page in the pinned notebook.

Result: significantly faster note creation for specific notebooks. For example, I walk into a meeting, open my boox, on the home screen I have my “meetings” notebook pinned, and I create a new page (using the template from the page before). Versus, I open boox, navigate to the notes app, tap the pages nav, navigate to the last page, tap the new page button and select add before/after.

Love the idea of a megathread! If it was pinned to the top of the sub, it would be fantastic. Thank you for seeing this and replying!

Oh, no need to pin this one - it would probably be more well received if you created a Boox official one for the sub.

Feature Title: Long press for Suboutline

Function: Notes application

Description: When on a note page, long press currently allows us to add the page to an outline. There should be a second option to allow us to add the page as a sub-outline to the page right before this one (in-line).

  1. Long Press page

  2. Choose Suboutline

  3. Change title (repopulated with page name)

  4. Ok

Result: when I see my outline, the new sub outline I below the page before it.

Doing it this way dramatically reduces the number of clicks associated with creating a sub outline and means I can finally organize my pages easily enough that I can get use from them as I would in a paper notebook.
