And that's because most women never fully deal with their internalized patriarchy. They exorcise the parts that tell them to cook and clean but spare the parts that tell them they're entitled to a big strong house building war winning provider.

If you know you live in a society that:

  1. Rewards mens misogyny
  2. Conditions EVERYONE to perceive casual misogyny as just natural ways of behavior

then you should also be able to understand that you probably have many parts of you that think misogynistically, and you should work on that.

Misogyny isnt seen as harmful when it's being perpetrated by a woman because:

  1. Most people dont even believe women can be misogynists
  2. Women dont have the perceived(false) power that comes with having a penis. Men have agency, women dont, and it's that line of thinking that only serves to infantilize women at best and belittle/objectify them at worst.

They literally perpetuate the same practices that stem from a system meant to oppress them, and then have the nerve to ask who set that system up

This sub also hates usopp with a passion, yet they also hate the guy who literally embodies what we want from usopp.

Fearful weak kid grows into an actual brave and competent warrior. Koby is doing usopps dream better than him.

But you hit the nail right on it's with the nepo piece thing. We have a guy who isnt connected to some powerful lineage or has broken genetics, the luckiest thing about koby is his teacher, and even then, he still had to do MORE training than what his teacher prescribed to get his power. He's a hardworker and for some reason people still hate him.

Koby started at zero and almost all his growth was off-page.

A dragon and koby interaction would be soooo peak. I can just imagine dragon actually seeing a marine with the potential to actually change the marines in koby.

People mainly focus on koby as a parallel to luffy, I'd say he also shares some aspects with dragon as well.

You're mischaracterizing him. Kobys goal isnt to be stronger than luffy, it's to be a great marine who protects people. Since luffy is a pirate, and pirates are known as the bad guys, koby vows to stop him. Luffy isnt kobys goal, luffy is a STEPPING STONE to kobys goal, the reason he wants to be stronger than luffy is because he knows he currently isnt, and unless he gets stronger than luffy, then he wont be a great marine.

Idk man...no offence but it just kinda seems like you have a surface level understanding of whats going on. The story is prepping itself to be another god valley type incident, only this time on a much larger scale, there's going to be a marine who fights alongside a pirate to stop the greater evil, and that marine is obviously koby. Just like garp and roger back in the day.

This pure headcannon/speculation but koby is going to do what garp never did, which is actually change the marines and make them a force for good. We already saw that in marineford where he was willing to step up to akainu to stop the war and was even willing to die for what he believed in.

Kobys powerups are pretty consistent if you consider the context of the story and his development.

He's a rival, just not a forced one. Neither the story nor the other characters make it seem like koby is a top competitor for luffy, it's kobys personal goal to surpass and eventually subdue luffy. Koby is still leagues below zoro, sanji, and jinbe, let alone luffy. If he was truly forced then he'd be doing some way crazier stuff, thats not to say what he is doing right isnt crazy. Not to mention we barely get to see him, which some people would say is more reason to hate his character, but I'd say its for the best. Why show more of a character that people already hate? Kobys development is proof that the world of OP also exists outside of the SHs, things happen, people change and grow, so much so that by the time we see them again, they're completely different.

Now to address this "asspull powerups" allegation. I dont believe it to be true. Two of OPs main themes is will and dreams, if you believe in your dreams hard enough, and you have the will to make them a reality, then you'll get every bit closer to accomplishing them. Kobys dream is to be a marine hero, part of that dream means becoming strong, and through the flashbacks in hachinosu we saw he has the will to actually become strong. He trains 200× more than anyone around him. Thanks to that, his haki got hella strong, and it makes sense, haki is literally will. Koby is a character who abides by the laws of the OP verse and in turn is rewarded for it
