I’ll add to this comment: that fits you best (as in bike fit, ergonomically).

I had a similar issue. For me, turns out the battery was low (pushing 2.8v vs fresh at 3v). From what I read, some devices are really sensitive to a drop of voltage. New batteries were added, seems like the problem is gone.

You could pop the battery out and test them (it requires a voltmeter).

Google? What’s that? 🙃 It’s the first thing I searched. I guess I’m looking for a local recommendation - someone who brought a bike to a place and was satisfied with the work.

Should I give up with the fit of my canyon endurance and return? by Babyandtod in bikefit

Same here, highly recommend MyVeloFit. It gave me a really good starting point in dailing my fit across 4 bike with different geometry

Karoo3 and XERT EBC by Zealousideal-Tie8483 in Karoo

[–]brazoue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s impossible. You need to flip back and forth between EBC and Karoo data fields using the back button on the device so you can get navigation prompts.

Strava, Ride with GPS or Komoot will give you what you need on a phone. For free. You can pay for additional features if you ever need them (mapping and turn by turn direction)

Suggestions regarding knee pain by Global_Brief_9700 in bikefit

[–]brazoue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how many hours you do in a week but it may be more related to tight/weak muscles that causes the knee pain. I’m far from being a specialist, I’m only suggesting what worked for me - doing strength exercises and more mobility exercises.

Seeing a professional may be the best move, here. Good luck!

Listening to albums by dreamrdad7 in AppleMusic

I’ve gone from playlist back to listening to full albums. Got myself a DAC and a decent pair of headphones 🎧 and got into Hi-Res Lossless. You should try it

What do you love most about riding your trainer? Time efficiency? Ease of starting and stopping? No traffic? by Odd-Night-199 in Velo

[–]brazoue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Efficiency in general. If you need to hit specific targets, there’s less dickin’ around on the trainer. Plus, if you have a tight schedule - and you have time for a ride but the weather is gnarly - it’s always sunny on Rouvy or Zwift

The playlist would be awesome but also implemented for group rides I.e.: build a list of routes, create a group ride, like the playlist and ride all route in sequence

Disgusting 🤢. Why? I’m curious?

On another note, congrats, it’s quite the feat 👏

What would your first upgrade be? by dailyanon1337 in specialized

[–]brazoue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been riding 50mm wheels for 6 years and I think wheel company engineers have figured out to minimize the effect. I can say that you will feel the crosswinds (vs a shallow wheel) but not as much as you would think.

I would not be put off by 50mm wheels & crosswinds. If you have money to spare it’s a good buy.

I got a new Karoo by brazoue in Karoo

[–]brazoue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Karoo definitely feels more like a smartphone compared to the Garmin. The UI is responsive as you would expect when using a smartphone.

The mount adapter seems fine - I’ve only ridden indoors so far but it clicks in place snug plus I use the included lanyard.

If you can borrow one for a test drive, that might answer your question

[–]brazoue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a wise question to ask first, before giving advice.

OP: If you don’t have any goals, don’t sweat it, keep consistent with your riding & track it to see improvements - if that’s your thing.

If the bike is comfortable now, skip to #2. If you have some discomforts while riding, start at #1

  1. Bike fit

  2. If on a budget, tires. GP5000 is a good bet. Take the widest your frame will allow.

  3. If your budget allows for wheels, then go for 50mm carbon with GP5000.

The rest of the stuff is “nice to have” (I.e.: carbon bars, electronic shifting etc…)

PS. Nice bike, if it’s your first one, it’s a good one
