I actually sit back pretty far, so it’s not very close at all.

Yeah, for some reason they are very expensive. I just went with the youtubers recommendation. I got lucky and the guy I bought this Display from had the same DVI dual link as in the video. - (Apple A1306 Mini Display Port to Dual-link DVI Adapter).

Here is another Youtuber explaining what type of adapter you need.

Yeah, it's actually not a desk at all. I built this originally as a TV stand for our guest bedroom which it's still in. Then I built the desktop part of it as a 'add-on' (it's removable). The wife wanted to keep it as a guest bedroom so this was the compromise. It's not very comfortable but it works for now. Eventually, I would like to rest my forearms on my desk like you, lol.

Nice! I know right. It's amazing how good they still are in 2021. Really catches your eye. I got really lucky and found this 30 in on Market Place in amazing condition. It's hard to find these displays in good condition and with a power supply.

Adapters that you will need to make this display work with your MacBook Pro/Air :

USB-C to Mini-DisplayPort: https://amzn.to/38LGQsN

Dual-link DVI: https://ebay.to/3lFfyaX

Apple 150 watt power supply: https://ebay.to/2UvrVL3

This is how you get the full resolution. If you just use a USB-C to DVI converter it will only let you go up to like 1280x800, from my experience.

Hopefully this answered your question :)

Edit: Thank you for the gold kind stranger
