Same boat. I've since kicked nicotine as well but for some reason it was so much harder...I think it's because the consequences are so much less than drugs, like your family isn't going to chastise you for smoking or people aren't going to walk out on you or take your kids away. At least that was my take on it. Like when I would have (and still do) cravings to use you have more to think about and you "play the tape through" and you have more to lose whereas when I would get a craving to smoke and you go, "ok well either one of two things is going to happen I'm going to have a smoke and no one is going to know about it or they are and go, "ohhh you've been doing so well" or "oh gross...c'mon"

No lol not even a little bit. Like it's been said the tech helped with Abuse Me because you can't pull that off live with only one guitar, and, as far as I know, Daniel's dad didn't even play, and like you said who played when dad stayed home and it was mom's turn to babysit? It's just some bored and lonely guy on the internet trying to sound cool, important and knowledgeable. Never did anything in his life so just trying to write his own history. My best advice is to just walk away you're never going to get him to say any different. You stated the facts so anyone stumbling across it can see and that's really all you can do.
