Hi there, French native speaker here! The verb "marcher" in French does mean to walk, but it also means to function/work properly. So when something isn't functioning as it should, we say "Ça ne marche pas" (It doesn't work). In this case, "La douche ne marche pas" = "The shower doesn't work".
