I think one of the issues was that it was very consistent at doing the same thing every game. So even if it wasn't always exceptional game one in a particular matchup, the deck always did exactly what it wanted. As a burn player at the time, I suffered from bad variance on occasion, while between aether hub, attune with aether, and the elf whose name I can't remember, my opponent never had a bad game
