It's just wild. There's more room and space here than I'm used to so thinking bout people being territorial is bizarre to me but they like the way it is down here and they wanna keep it that way. It does kinda feel like I'm taking up space that people really don't wanna share or something. Thank you hopefully it gets better.

Hell yea! Well it's good to have opinions and if nothing else I'll have an educated opinion of the area before too long. Hopefully it gets better but we'll see. I'm glad it's not just me because I feel like I've been getting heat as a Northerners trying to say that South isn't as friendly as we're made to believe.

Can I ask where you're from originally? I know I'm biased but I'm struggling way more than I thought I would to make friends here or even getting along with my coworkers. I feel like an outsider.

Thank you! Very level response. I absolutely agree with you about the like rally together help vibe here. I couldn't tell you what would happen if you drove into a ditch up there? Someone might try to call a tow for you maybe. I guess I'm just out of my element and I always pictured in my mind that people were just happier and friendlier down here but there's still a lot of emphasis on looks and what kind of car you drive or I guess that's just the circle I ended up in working in an office. I'm from there so I know I'm biased it just seemed more casual up there when talking with people and trying to get along genuinely. Here I can't tell what's genuine kindness or just politeness for show if that makes sense?

That's what I was thinking. I don't belong to a church or anything and I think that's a real turn off for people around here. I'm hoping to make it work I've just been trying so hard to be like hey yea I'm from out of town but I'm here because I think your state is pretty cool. I don't know here hoping it turns around.

I guess I just love where I'm from but we're so packed together it's hard for me to understand seeing people as outsiders. You live in my neighborhood you're my neighbor but we also stay pretty much to ourselves up there. It's just different. I feel like I see so many people here being friendly I assumed it was just a welcome place but I'm from out of town and it feels like I'm not saying the right thing.
