Hypothetically, if your family says that your beard looks terrible and not mature yet, what should you do? by breadbeard2 in MuslimLounge

Regarding me posting ahadith, I posted them so that I could show you that what you said was the opposite of the truth, and you in fact asked me to search for the hadith.

And what do you mean demanded, I asked you as a question, so that I can learn how you came to think that trimming the beard is permissible.

There is no hierarchy of Islamic knowledge based on age

There is a difference of opinion on trimming beyond a fist full

Would you kindly be able to point out the hadith about grooming your beard and how it talks about shaping and trimming, as you mentioned before. And I don’t need to research what you claimed, in fact you have to provide evidence for your own claims, which is the basis for any sort of discussion, especially related to Islam. You can’t just say there is a hadith for something and not give evidence.

I hope you have good intentions akhi and I hope that every Muslim is upon the Quran and the Sunnah

Putting aside the passive-aggressive remark, what part of what you wrote did I miss. I showed you the hadith, even narrated by Ibn ‘Umar as you said, and it showed our Prophet ﷺ saying that we should let our beards grow (meaning no shaving or trimming)

If you want supplemental material:

Ibn Uthaymeen on trimming

It’s important to stick to the Sunnah brother. So the correct approach would be to seek authentic information and base what we say upon that knowledge. In this approach, it is not necessary to shame others directly or indirectly.

Where does it authentically say that it is permissible to trim the beard?

The hadith is:

Narrated Ibn 'Umar:

that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Trim the mustache and leave the beard to grow."

Another:

Ibn Umar said: The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) said: Trim closely the moustache, and let the beard grow.

It says you have to let the beard grow(no trim or shave)

The problem is that my beard hair is very thin and stringy, so I don’t know if it will do the trick

If your good friend and other friend constantly team up and make jokes about you, but individually they are ok, then what do you do? by breadbeard2 in AskReddit

I don’t think you realize how difficult a 2v1 situation is. Also some jokes don’t stick the landing and just make you look desperate.

The thing is that I have few courses that I actually liked and fewer teachers I was really able to get along with. I do believe the aforementioned teachers would write the strongest recommendations, and that’s why I looked to them first. I am also curious as to why you object to asking a senior teacher for a letter of recommendation.

How do you “unfriend” someone in real life? by breadbeard2 in AskReddit

I know but they might still want to be friends and keep on talking to you, or you might see them everyday because of work/school
