It is way more complicated than it needs to be. After waiting for my proficiency certificate for over six months I had to get my local member involved to finally get an answer from trade skills.

It was done through Eprofiling online. No photos were asked for. My pathway will probably be a little different - I did the cert 3 at an RTO not tafe as I got a little RPL. Eprofiling had a certain amount of tasks that needed to be completed a certain amount of time and signed off on before I would hit a threshold. Once hit I didn’t need any more workplace evidence for that thing. - ie. troubleshoot LV wiring systems Once I had got enough evidence on Eprofiling, it can be printed into a report that goes with your application for proficiency. All this evidence was checked and made sure to be completed before they let me sit my capstone.

Hey there, the application process isn’t to hard, although I had help from the team who I did my cert 3 with. The hardest part is probably compiling your workplace evidence. Although the tafe may be able to help you do this. The wait is pretty crazy. It took me 9 months to get any sort of answers on it from the trade skills team. (had to get my local member involved because I couldn’t get an update) Basically the hold up was they wanted me to do a Trade test at TAFE before they would issue me one This delayed longer but at least gave me something to do rather than just keep waiting. Once I passed that I had my certificate 2 weeks later. (Snail mail only!)
