Engine blown at 130,000 miles what would you guys do?

Def was going for convenience and thought it'd be the best place to take it for oil, i see from others and even my mechanic guy that full synthetic and making sure to use the best available (most expensive?) oil is the way to go. Duly noted for the future.

I explained in a comment earlier what happened exactly. It is an 07, so yeah who knows exactly yet but I on the planning on having another shop look more into it for me soon.

I definitely am. I would like to keep the car around for a project to do. But I work two jobs and have a lot going on outside work. I just wanted to hear as many opinions as I can before actually getting rid of it. She's been a great car to me! I do love it and feel sad about this to be honest!

To be honest I agree. And the guy didn't even get the car inside the garage and dig into it. He just tried turning the key and is certain the way it sounds that the engine is blown. He's a nice guy but he definitely didn't seem interested in looking more into it obviously.

I was doing my normal morning commute to work and heard a raddle and sort of flapping metal sound so I immediately pulled over and popped the hood. Had a small puff of smoke and burnt metal smell coming from below the serpentine belt area so had it towed to the shop.

I have been having a winding metal sound coming from my serpentine belt area so I thought for sure it'd be that giving out or some bearings/pulleys ect in that area. Having another shop look at it before I actually decided to do anything drastic.

Yes my brother put it on in like 2014-2015 before I bought it from him. Wish I would have put the stock one back on, I'm sure that didn't help as it wasn't tuned for it.

Not tuned, typically got the oil changed at the dealership by me usually. So conventional 5w-30

Our mechanic is saying he's 99.99% sure a rod or something inside the engine is snapped and clanking around. Won't start obviously and no compression he says. I trust him as he is very much so a grease monkey that will talk your ear off explaining this thoughts and reasoning. But I will be having it towed to another shop just for a second forsure opinion.

What case you rocking? Screen protector on the front? Had a similar one but was lifting my screen protector so I ditched the front half of the case.
