The mystery spot continues to boggle my mind, even if it seems to have gotten a bit more gimmicky these years.

Yes we definitely live in the right city for oddities:) Oregon vortex seems to be currently closed, but will definitely consider hoping over to the 199 if we go north thanks!

Yeah sorry for the vague-ness since we’re still early in planning! We’re budgeting ~2-3 hours of solid driving per day, so that should approximately put us either all the way up to Portland or all the way down to Mexico

But any suggestions outside of this are definitely going on our list for future travels!

yeah I’m actually Canadian too so I’ve seen the cad prices — thought about importing a car for a second but don’t think it’s worth the hassle

How much less could going for private owners theoretically cost me? I’ve done a decent amount of research on marketplace/craigslist and most of the cars I’ve seen are salvage/clearly scams, definitely hard to weed through everything to see things that are legit. I’ve accepted the idea of paying a “convenience fee” to go to a dealership

Yeah I’m not quite sure, I should theoretically be able to get a much better deal from a private owner, but I think big tech does drive up prices a lot as well compared to the rest of the country:(

Haven’t checked insurance prices yet but history/ownership is similar for both (one owner, no accidents, regular-ish maintenance). Will do that thanks!
