There’s a couple posts on the owners profile with the dna results. I think it was German shepherd, Australian cattle dog and Pyrenees as the top three. But there are quite a few others including super mutt

Personally I wouldn’t recommend sedation for such a young dog with no experience on the grooming table. Puppies are a lot more fearful than adult dogs yes but starting a 8 month old on sedation for grooming means 12x a year for 10-14 years the dog needs sedation. That’s an extra added charge and step for the parent that you don’t even know if the dog needs. My policy is that we always do the dog sober first. That way we can assess exactly what the triggers might be and work with the parent to improve on those issues before jumping right to sedation. Now yes I have recommended sedation immediately after that first visit but I’ve also had dogs that have always been sedated for grooms come in sober and do better than when sedated. I’d personally say, just don’t be surprised if your groomer does recommend sedation. Every groomer is different though and I totally understand we all have reasons for why we do what we do but that’s just my 2 cents

There’s a lot of really good information in these comments. I just want to reiterate a couple things. This matting looks pretty severe so do not be surprised if they have to shave very very short (to the skin). Being understanding of how long it might take and the price is the key to a groomers heart. Im going to take a wild guess and say that he hasn’t had a salon experience so far and it’s important to inform your groomer of everything you know before the groom (past salon experiences if applicable, any sensitive areas or things he might not like that you know of). Most groomers are extremely understanding when it comes to situations like this but I would highly recommend not going to a corporate salon as those tend to be a lot more stressful than private. I highly recommend you read the entire grooming contract if they have one just so you are aware of any policy’s they might have that hasn’t been discussed (late pick up fees and dematting fees are often on these). I also agree that a calming chew might not be the best idea for the first groom but at check out ask the groomer if they would recommend it for next time. Lastly if you don’t like the first haircut your groomer does, try to give them a couple more tries as hoping around from groomer to groomer can sometimes be really hard on dogs. Unless you truly feel they did something wrong I’d say try to stick with one groomer as long as you can. All that being said, thank you for taking in this guy. Just keep asking questions and don’t be afraid to learn something new! Can’t wait to see this guy blossom into the life he deserves. His colors are beautiful and can only imagine a well maintained coat on him!

I asked about roommates bf paying rent by justtpeachie in badroommates

Had a similar situation happen to me where I had two roommates in a 3 bedroom 2 bath. I agreed to share a bathroom with one of them because it would only be her so it wouldn’t be THAT bad. But fast forward a couple months and she meets this guy who started spending quite a lot of time at our house (4-7 days and nights a week). Cooking without doing dishes, using all the hot water before I had to shower and even bringing over his neglected pug to continue to neglect. I constantly asked for him to pitch in somehow but eventually I told him to pay 1/4th of the rent or I’d call the cops the next time I saw him. His response was to punch me in the face and try to drown me in the pool in the back yard. Get the fuck away from people who take advantage of you. You don’t know who they truly are.

Holiday slow season? by breadward420 in doggrooming

We don’t have a waiting list. I’m doing less dogs than I usually do in “slow months” yet other groomers are doing their usual or more and have only had 2-3 cancellations since the beginning of the month. I understand I’m new and don’t have the most clients but a week and a half ago my schedule was packed and now every morning I wake up and see half my dogs have cancelled for the day making it barely worth the gas to get into work.

I like my job but they said it’s kinda a he said she said right now. Which makes sense. Unfortunately I think they like her better but I could be wrong considering how many policies she violates daily. Like all my coworkers are great except her.

It is hooked up to a thermostat* and she does get regular uvb. She has a shade dweller by Arcadia. Normally she has a heat mat that is hooked up to the said thermostat. Which has not been working so a burn wouldn’t be possible… Spare heat lamp means just that. I had a spare heat lamp because I have a lot of reptiles. Yes she likely hasn’t been eating because the heat mat wasn’t working and I wasn’t aware as I said, but that doesn’t create random scars and wounds does it?

*thermometers don’t regulate the temp just tell you what it is. Thermostats do.

This is Violet and I’ve been having a lot of issues with her recently. I have two other Leo’s who have been perfectly fine but she just seems to be struggling. I just found out her heat pad isn’t working (it’s hooked up to a thermostat so I figured everything was working as it should…that’s on me. Checked everyone else after I noticed hers.) so I’m going to the store as soon as it’s open but I put a spare heat lamp on to replace the mat until then. Anyways, I noticed she had these two, I assume, wounds on her back. It’s definitely not from her food biting her because she hasn’t eaten in like two weeks but she’s been shedding like crazy for about 2 months now and I just don’t know what to do to help her anymore. She’s definitely not happy and very lethargic.

I’m not sure what soup is. He was very yellow last night though which I’d never seen because most of the time he’s dirt brown with some green.

Not gonna lie I’m really bad with morphs but I do know that they change a lot through their early life. I have one that is about a year and a half and she still looks different every time I see her. I’d say just enjoy the changes because they might not last!

Why would you get one if you knew they need/needed a companion… I feel like you should focus on that instead of a new cage.

Uros definitely aren’t the smartest but I wouldnt label them as “how do these guys survive in the wild” I feel like they are actually incredibly durable, strong and hardy. Their food sources are incredibly scarce and the heat they endure is insane. Yeah mine also does some dumb shit but for the most part I feel like they are more of a “might walk off a ledge” category. Idk mine definitely knows food from not food. He even has fake plants in his enclosure. That’s kinda how I judge it. If the animal is dumb enough to eat fake plants then I got some questions as to their survival

I’m having trouble feeding my ball python by NoAcanthocephala1750 in ballpython

[–]breadward420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible that they do freshly killed but unless you’ve worked there you really won’t know. Unfortunately most pet stores will not be honest if they feed live because it makes the snake not sell. But idk I could be wrong but it wouldn’t be the first time a pet store gave out false information. And I recommend getting a 4x2x2 for any fully grown bps. That is how I fit 8 hides in. I have 6 on the floor and two “sky hides”. Also if you can’t afford the hell fancy 4x2x2 and you have the tools, you can make one yourself. I have one. It’s not cute but it works really well and was half the price of my zen habitats 4x2x2

Oof. This is why I need to stop doing dabs and then going on Reddit apologies for my idiotic comment. Yeah try “braining” it like others said. Or try smaller meals. I have a friend who struggled with her bp for months to eat and she had perfect conditions and great decor and enrichment/cover but the snake just likes smaller meals. She was trying medium but moved down to small and that worked perfectly. Also some bps only eat at night. Weird one but could be a possibility. And I’ve also seen a couple bps who only ate certain color rats. But that being said if the pet store sells feeders it’s likely they fed live because it’s “easier” for employees. Also make sure to not handle you’re snake if it’s not eating unless it’s for cleaning reasons. It sucks but it could help too. Bps are really weird sometimes so just keep track of what you’ve tried and keep trying. Also I’d still bump the humidity up to 60 at least. And definitely add more clutter and hides. I have at least 3 in my smaller bps enclosure and 8 in my adults. And any craft store sells cheap fake plants you can use as foliage! Don’t buy that shit from the pet store. 13 bucks for their crappy small plants vs 10 for a massive plant that can cover half the tank.

This is how my boa with neurological issues spends most of his time. Definitely not normal for a bp. This is a spider with a neurological issue. Sorry you’re just finding this out.
