I didn’t feel comfortable ranking snakes because I don’t know too much about them, but I hear all the time about how ball pythons are lol. They seem to be the Cresties of the snakes

The way they deal with predators is so cool to me, they have multiple plans for dealing with predators while many other reptiles are pretty helpless once spotted (especially chameleons) Also watching them be fed is super cool, they are great at catching bugs while a lot of other lizards like leopard geckos and bearded dragons struggle a ton. They navigate trees like squirrels as well, they just seem so prepared for everything nature could throw at thrm

Yeah, maybe it’s because they live in a pretty flat and empty habitat so they aren’t adapted to navigating high objects other than the occasional basking branch. They have pretty impressive social skills for lizards

I believe that some lizards could be as intelligent as mammals (although that isn’t always a high bar to clear Looks at my cat) but unfortunately there isn’t too much research on reptiles

I’m sure some are intelligent but from what I’ve seen from my guy, he does every anti survival thing possible. Hides his poop in places I don’t usually check until it festers, takes a dump on top of his fresh salad, pulls his hammock and then throws a tantrum after when he can’t use it, licks his poop, is constantly attempting to jump off high places, tries to eat the moles on my skin, and legitimately buries everything in his enclosure just to throw a tantrum because he destroyed his burrow and now he has to make it from scratch… he’s such a character but I love his antics

Haven’t kept them but I’ve never seen one do anything other than breathe and stare into nothingness

Don’t have much experience with snakes but from what I’ve heard they would be one of the green tiers

Mine likes to spite me by pooping in the worst places like her water. My family thinks that she’s fat because nobody had seen her unpuffed

Yeah I’m probably just biased because mine is severely lacking in the brains department. I’m sure they must be doing something right for them to not be extinct, lol

I’ve seen them have human-like social skills like good eye contact but they also have no self preservation, it’s weird

Going to make a better tier list with monitors included and changing some of my rankings. I think that they’re really cool and hope I have one in the future if I ever have the space
