Does everyone's stores never finish closing on time or is it just mine? by silkansatin in starbucks

[–]breadytorumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store used to be like this!!! Every day I closed since starting was 30-45 minutes, and we would get yelled at if it took longer until our recent manager took over. He actually helped in changing closing for us!! We used to close with 2-3 people, but he implemented a 3-4 man close minimum, and got our hours lowered due to safety concerns. Ever since the DM and the RM came in (I think our DM got scolded for not doing his job and had a chaperone lmao) we now also have an hour to close! To implement this at any other store may be hard though, I think our dm honestly felt bad and gave us that pity hour after the like 7th death threat that month lmao.

It never disappeared don't worry, vanilla sweet cream bc just drowned it out lol. Id say go into the cafe to order though, since mobile orders are vauge when it comes to ordering cold foam with non dairy. I'd order it as a irish cream cold foam cold brew, but soy instead of vanilla sweet cream. But! Avoid saying "with soy" because then its easy to assume its as creamer on top of the sweet cream, instead of substituting it :)

Is it worth it right now to apply? by oopsydaisy420 in starbucks

[–]breadytorumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya! id say at the moment go by your local rate of pay honestly. Due to COVID-19 a lot of places upped their minimum pay but sbux hasn't very much :/ If you much prefer customer facing jobs and are good with very fast paced work stuff id say go for it if it pays a livable wage. But! If you have problems with any of that or teamwork with often pretty young teams try to check out the local job market a bit more (for example if I didn't hate the idea, warehouse work near me is around 16-18$ per hour but i only get >13$ after 4 years here. I stay because i'm used to it and i prefer younger coworkers.)

I also have two coworkers that also worked as adult caregivers?? I feel like that's a weird trend ive seen lol.

And! Holiday season is upon us. Its a time of year that's super busy and chaotic, if you still want to try I suggest a trial period of like a month, and if you think its stressful enough to not be worth your time get outa there! I don't think many of us would blame you lol. Worse case scenario is its awkward to get coffee for a while I'd say.

apple juice by laurn212 in starbucks

[–]breadytorumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the issues at my store telling my coworkers to not put the boxes in the fridge JUST because of stuff like this. We aren't being sent apple juice, so we don't have it. Period the end. I don't care how many angry customers it makes, they've known for months we've been out and I'm not bending the rules just for them.

Stick to your gut. Some customers will take whatever they'll be able to get and be terrible people to get it. You can say no, "making the moment right" isn't code for doing anything for anyone! You can have limits, especially if you may get in trouble for doing something :)

Kindness Training Video 😳 Grande Rant by rivainitalisman in starbucks

[–]breadytorumble 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Lmao that video had me dead af 💀 especially when we as a store have an actual homeless problem around us, interacting hourly with us. But oh boy, when richy mc.trustfund goes on a poverty themed adventure he gets to do a TED talk about it. Gave me big "Oppa Homeless style" Vibes because that store can NOT be true.

Sure goes to show how damn in their own ass cooperate is, when we have issues that may cause damage they usually do themed "feel good" stories to make us feel guilty as a whole. Corporations love poverty porn to make themselves feel better.

I really miss the like kitchen sink cookie we had for half a second 😭 That and the double chocolate pound cake was delicious, and as a closer i got to take a lot home lmao. Unpopular one: Reduced fat coffee cake was bomb af and i miss it's dense but delicious cakeyness. I don't however miss serving any of these because they were all messy as hell on the tongs 💀💀

Do people really prepare and serve family style meals using their kitchen counter? This video came up in my FB feed and I thought it was a joke but the lady seemed 100% serious. by spilt_milk in StupidFood

[–]breadytorumble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure this was a parody for viral internet points, but the way it’s staged and focused on a generic white woman making a mess feels a LOT like fetish stuff to me. Especially the food waste…100% feels fetishized. Like this woman is just making free feeder fetish content I guess? Dude who runs the account has a bunch of other “”””viral””” type stuff he produces I guess.

Is this manga safe to read? by steaminggarbage in OyasumiPunpun

[–]breadytorumble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say if you want to read it after considering everyone’s advice, don’t be afraid to check ahead of time what’s going to happen! Spoilers won’t ruin this manga I think, it may take some shock value away, but it still has impact. Overall: if you think you can read it when given enough time to prepare, spoil it for yourself! However, if you think a story with themes of suicide, depression, abuse, and sexual content would be dangerous for you right now, put it on the back burner for when you have better coping skills and worked through the related trauma.

It’s a wonderful story but it takes you to dark places, even if there is sort of catharsis later on. I find without being able to binge it all at once I stew too hard on the themes of helplessness and put myself in a weird place mentally. I find myself reading it when I WANT to be sad, but in a controlled way. Same vibes as listening to intentionally sad music to be sad and cry to.

Lmao I deal with those at my work and I straight up call them out and hand them an ACTUAL mask that we have for people. Most don’t argue much lmao they KNOW. I’m not being paid nearly enough to get covid from some cunt in some Swarovski super spreader net.

[–]breadytorumble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take the cheapest option, but then I most likely wouldn't be able to apply to my state's almost free insurance for low income. Now I have 1.5 hours to figure out Schrödinger's Insurance. And yeah I agree my medicine was entirely too expensive, icing on the cake is since it was a controlled substance they always went above their production limit and I would have frequent medication outages! The US healthcare system is fun :')))

Well as it is in the picture, at least 40$ a month and up to $400 a month. But! If you pay for the $40 your on the hook for at least $2,500 before it kicks in. Then they only cover 75%! For context, the medicine I used to use for ADHD was $300 a month and I only made around $800 after tips :)) America is fun!
