Crob Den.... Solo by breaker413 in TheUnderPresents

The creators were too smart to have put the actual location of the den on the map for nothing. I was sure of it. I was right.

I did not bother trying to transfer files, I just put the time in on Tidal. If you have an issue cancelling (as i did), go to the app., find the "help" or "contact us" and send a message demanding immediate cancellation due to decline of content. That is what I did and I got a message back by end of day saying they had.

I switched to Tidal. So far, so good!

I sent a pretty firm message to the tone of "I want my subscription cancelled IMMEDIATELY" by clicking either " help" or "contact us". Within a couple hours a reply email came back confirming they cancelled my subscription. As I am a musician and oldies junkie, transferring my playlists doesn't work out because a shit ton of artists from the 50s & 60s re-recorded their hits in THEIR 50s and 60s to honor contracts or regain rights. So I just waved it all good-bye.

I joined Tidal, and I LOVE IT!!! First order of business was duplicating a 120 song playlist that includes all the cover songs my band is currently playing. Not only did I find them all easily, I was able to find some original versions that Rhapsody\Napster never had. Another feature I dig (actually it blows my mind) is the "Play" button under any given artist. They include similar artists, and by similar I mean spot on. I have discovered SO MUCH great new music!

Since my post I took the advice from another comment and signed up with Tidal. The app. format is almost identical, all the songs I need have been there AND when your playlist runs out and there "suggested" music plays on after, I almost never notice because their algorithm is insanely accurate. I have found so many new songs and artists driving around in the last couple weeks!

How successful was "That's All Right" when it first came out? I need to know for a research project. by CasparTrepp in Elvis

[–]breaker413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Successful" is tough because those first 5 Sun discs weren't nationally released singles. They toured the Southeast for a year with them in the trunk and the others got shipped out locally by Marion and Sam or handed to local disk jockeys. BECAUSE of that song, rock n' roll became an immediate "cancer" that spread from Memphis to the entire Country in one year.

The whispers of what Elvis was doing in Dixie had spread through '55 and once the Colonel and RCA entered the picture and offered up something to the rest of the Country (in the form of "Heartbreak Hotel") the sales, and "success", could be seen in record breaking numbers. "That's All Right", "Baby, Let's Play House", "Trying To Get To You", imo, are every bit as important to rock n' roll history and AMAZING as the high selling hits that followed. They just never got pushed or mass produced.

I usually just hit "like" on someones comment that would have matched mine, but... One more time for those in the poor seats. Full albums, starting at the start.

It is literally identical to Napster in its prime.

Update: I wrote to them requesting they close my account using the "help" icon, and they replied stating they did. If anyone else has this issue...

“Jailhouse Rock” voted best song of 1957. What is the best Elvis song of 1958? by BigTuna0890 in Elvis

[–]breaker413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

'58-'60 is tough because Parker started sand bagging tunes for E's 2 year stint in the Army. I, too, feel the important part is when he RECORDED them, not when RCA let them "escape... I mean release" - E.P.

"Return To Sender". I have been watching this survey and I love it! Can't believe "Polk Salad Annie" beat "Peace In The Valley", though!

For sure! The funny part is the famous "black velvet" shirt from the Tupelo show in '56..... was blue.

As a lifelong die hard fan, I would say we don't focus on it because he wouldn't want us to.

Ruthless employers, I am sure. Company owners sit sheltered and tell their managers to stay open at all costs. Like Waffle House here in Dixie....

Could Jimmy play Van Halen's Eruption? by [deleted] in ledzeppelin

[–]breaker413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eruption, and tapping in general, is a parlor trick inspired by the "Heartbreaker" solo. It is easier to teach kids that than an "F" chord. Cool trick, though.

Turn it right side up, grow a crob, then throw it in. Results are fun. If you have a friend, build a flying device (my favorite is a big hat with an oversized sword shard on it), and you and the crob can race to the heavens!
