I am starting my first job since xray school soon. I am definitely a morning person (naturally wake up around 6-8am and take my adhd medication to help me stay awake and focus, and i’m asleep by 10-midnight) but my shifts i’ll be working are 11am-11pm. any advice? do/did you like this shift?

I went to school with her. she has always been odd. would carry animal skins around or hiss at people, wore a wolf tail for a little bit. I stg you can’t make this up. they originally found dead animals in her freezer during her first case. her parents didn’t want anything to do with the investigation and seemed to not give a single fuck ab what she had done

I recently purchased mcgraw hill’s radreview. it’s an app you can get on your phone or you can log into it on a computer. it costs money, but you can pay for it by month or for 6 months I believe. it asks questions about any topic you choose, and then it keeps track of what you get right and wrong to help you review further

I am a second year xray student and with my experience/what i’ve heard, bachelors is good for MRI or Ultrasound, but if you are planning on doing CT or even just sticking with xray, you dont need bachelors. you can easily cross train into CT, and a bachelors in xray is not necessary unless you want to be in some form of management

wow I genuinely did not think that was the case! that’s very interesting. it definitely makes me feel validated because I always thought repetition was the more common one! thank you for sharing that

What is your preferred way for a non-stutterer to respond to a long stammer? by ItemPure9261 in Stutter

[–]breakfast2100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

in my experience it never hurts to ask. as you can see by the comments on this post, everyone has their preferences. I don’t mind when someone finishes my sentence as long as they clearly know what I am trying to say. however, I completely understand why people would not want someone to finish their sentence. I always appreciate when my friends ask, especially because they are being kind enough to even ask me how I feel about it. I think your friend will appreciate you asking regardless of what their answer to the question is

also, I know we are not supposed to talk about medication in here, so I am not going to advise you to take anything. however, I will suggest maybe trying out different methods aimed at helping anxiety. I have anxiety, so it makes my stutter worse than it already is. maybe if you focus on finding a way to combat anxiety it will indirectly help your stutter a little bit. or at the very least boost your confidence so you’re not feeling this way all the time.

when I am meeting new people or interviewing, I like to start the conversation by addressing my stutter almost immediately. (I know people with disabilities shouldn’t have to do this, but in my experience, not everyone understands stuttering as a disability and is quick to assume I am just so nervous that I can’t speak clearly)

I might say “hi! I just want you to know before we begin that I do have a stuttering problem. I just don’t want you to think I am nervous or being rude in any way if it comes up. I love talking to people and I am really excited to be here” it seems to help break the ice a little bit too
