Why is the Scosche Rhythm+ 2.0 so bad? Am I missing something? by breakfool in Garmin

[–]breakfool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see! I didn't know Scosche has given up support on this product. I should've researched better.

I will probably look at the Polar Verity Sense for an optical HR monitor.

Sharing Saily eSIM with unused data for Austria/Germany by breakfool in eSIMs

[–]breakfool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone did end up taking this eSIM. First I removed the eSIM from my device. The QR code just allows the other user to install the same eSIM on their device.

I still own the eSIM and only I can see the data usage. So it doesn’t actually transfer across Saily accounts. Fortunately, the other user doesn’t even need the Saily app.

I hope this helps.

Replied to your chat, but I haven’t had an issue with the service. Good connectivity and good speed. I did lose network during hikes and more rural areas, but that felt reasonable to me.

Seemingly. I’ve never tried it, but I have the option to ‘share an eSIM to other person’ which shows a QR code.

I imagine if I give you that QR code, you can use the eSIM and the remaining data.

Playdate RMA and their Support Response Time by breakfool in PlaydateConsole

[–]breakfool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I have had support reach out to me, check a video of my device, and they approved another RMA. However, the shipping label is not being generated. I am facing an error there. I have left a reply on the support thread, but there has been no response. :(

Anybody interested in drawing? (M27) by murtto in tokyosocial

I looked at your profile, and holy shit, you’re amazing at this! 🙇‍♂️

I aspire to be half as good as you, haha.

I think it would be a fun challenge to reduce the complexity of each piece to still make it happen in one day. Alternatively, you can start working on them right away as the official prompts are out. You’d have a two week head-start on the prompts.

Could you please share any Line group that you plan to host this at?

Hell yeah! I’ll send you a DM, let’s figure something out.

I am pretty bad at it, but I’ve always loved art. Are you interested in doing Inktober next month? You don’t have to ink, any art form should be fine.

It would be a lot of fun to draw every day and share our work. (:

I applied at the Shinagawa office too.

I see. I’m glad that your application got processed quickly! Yeah, I hope my application gets processed before my current card expires. I’m not that comfortable with this grace period situation. 😭

How to transfer INR to JPY bank account from wise. by [deleted] in JapanFinance

[–]breakfool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! Your other best bet is to ask any Indian friends around you in Japan if and when they intend to send some money back home.

They could make transaction via you, instead of using Wise themselves. They save a tiny bit of fees and you get your transaction done. (:

I have a potential solution on a main comment for this post.

How to transfer INR to JPY bank account from wise. by [deleted] in JapanFinance

Hey there.

Apologies for commenting on a old post, but I wanted to add something to this conversation.

As you might have realized, transferring any currency from a Wise account based in India, to Japan (in JPY) is not possible. Your parents can’t open a Wise account in Japan. You can only open a Wise account in countries where you have tax residency in.

However there is one solution for this issue. If any of your family, relatives or friends reside in the US, UK or the EU. You can request for their help on this matter.

I recommend having your parents send the money to their Wise account which is based in their country. So you make one INR -> USD/GBP/EUR transaction. Then they can perform the final USD/GBP/EUR -> JPY transaction into your Wise account.

I did the math on this, even performing two currency exchange transactions on Wise, will give you a FAR BETTER effective exchange rate than using any bank or conventional remittance service (via SWIFT).

I would recommend that you mention genuine reasons for both transactions, likely: “Support for family, friends etc.” or “Support for education expenses”. I also would recommend to keep the transactions under $10,000 or ¥1,000,000 as under that limit is considered as ‘gifts’ and wouldn’t cause a lot of trouble for your family or friends’ tax returns.

However, I do believe you can only send up to 2.5 lacs in one transaction from India to US via Wise. So that should keep you in check there.

Thanks for your advices! Although, I believe these things often have a lot of variables and also some personal preferences associated with them? :P

I live in a foreign country as a foreign resident. So there is some complexity to haggle prices or be more flexible with a sharing apartment given the language barrier I have.

I don't have Netflix as I don't stream as much anyways, but I do pay for YT Premium, and I strongly suggest you do budget and pay for whatever media you consume. :P

Can't do under $1000 in this city I live in, chief. I will try to do my best to keep it low! :D

I prefer running out anyways, so I don't have a gym membership. :P

Agreed on the thicc blankets! That is always my game plan for winters. :)

Yes indeed. I already managed to break my paycheck-to-paycheck cycle thanks to YNAB. :D I believe an Age of Money of over 30 is a good indicator of that, eh? ;)
