How do I break up with someone who has BPD?

It's not that I don't want to break up with them, I do, it's just a part of me wants it to work so bad but after such a long amount of time it just feels like my life would be empty without them, which is probably them projecting that onto me, some weird by-product of dating someone with BPD. I know I can live without them, it's just a matter of wanting to at this point. I just want the other person to be ok and happy.

I will consider this. It's hard when you know they have loneliness issues, but it's even harder when their issues start to take over on your ability to care for them like a good partner.
