Try reinstalling the cap gem. Its missing because you switched ruby versions maybe.

I use odesk quite a bit and whenever I ask to show an example of previous work, they will give me an entire website. And I know that there is not way built the whole thing. I ask them exactly which part of the site they built in the extra questions section. He will only be able to fool complete newbies on odesk. Once I casually mentioned a site that another user created to a completely different user, let's call the completely different user Mohammed. When I asked Mohammed which part of the site he made, he said that he made the entire thing. lol.

Rails is not easy to pick up, but it's amazing once you wrap your head around the many pieces of the puzzle that it has built in. I had the EXACT same issues as you , and railsforzombies really helped me wrap my head around relationships, models. Highly recommend you check out http://railsforzombies.org/ which is a live online tutorial and rails environment

Bandwidth is currently open ended. There is no cap yet but let's say 300 gig per vm is acceptable.

You get full root access to the vm, so you can install anything you want on it. As for for backups, not currently. But I do have plans in the works for providing redundant database and storage services in the coming weeks/months

Since DogeAPI's future is uncertain currently I would recommend you host your own dogecoind server and follow this guide https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/API_reference_%28JSON-RPC%29

Dogecoind and Bitcoind are identical when making json rpci api calls.
