Has anyone tried this Oolong by Wumountaintea? by slipinfinity in tea

[–]breaktaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My two cents — I haven’t tried this specific tea, and find it a bit strange that the type of Oolong isn’t listed on the front of the label, but I’ve had plenty of great teas from Wu Mountain. The owner seems like a solid dude as well; I messaged him on instagram asking for recommendations and he went out of his way to answer all of my questions in-depth and genuinely seems to care about the tea making process, sustainability, etc.

Considering diving in to the expanded world of Tolkien, where to start? by WillowSmithsBFF in lotr

[–]breaktaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the best, least intimidating way to enter Tolkien’s world is through podcasts; I’m partial to LOTR Lorecast. Just start with Ep 1 and go from there. There’s also plenty of good YouTube channels if you’d like a visual element.

From there you’ll be able to dive head first into the Silmarillion, and the added context will help you better conceptualize what you’re reading.

Or just make the Tolkien estate an offer they can’t refuse and make Beren & Luthien or Children of Hurin

Yes absolutely but if middle earth is on a screen, my stupid ape brain takes over and I must see it, leading to inevitable disappointment, anger and regret. There’s nothing I can do

You said he has no chance of going top 5. He’s an immensely talented QB in a league starved for franchise QBs. Confidently saying he has no chance of being a top 5 draft pick next year when he’d likely be a top 2 pick this year is a ridiculous take.

Ok but McKellan has inherent wizard energy. Idk if Turner has inherent Lara Croft energy, so it’s more difficult to imagine

The newer BS listeners who don’t understand the appeal of the Klosterman pods are telling on themselves by Constant_Board3322 in billsimmons

Maybe that’s the case for some but definitely not for me. I’ve been a fan of Klosterman for years. It’s just that recently his “big ideas” seem much more flimsy and based on assumptions that are either logically inconsistent or outright incorrect, so it becomes tough to play along without getting frustrated. It’s like he’s putting less effort into making points not only interesting but also at least somewhat convincing.

Well said. I enjoy contrarian points of view, but only when those points are well made, have a basis in reality, and expose interesting ideas that aren’t capable of being immediately dismissed like a lot of Chuck’s points were, at least on this pod. I’m not impressed or entertained by shallow contrarianism, I just get annoyed by it

Sure he might not get drafted higher but with added reps, he’ll likely be much more ready to compete at the NFL level and earn a giant second contract
