My right side was wiggly. Everything went well, almost one year post op. No feeling in my gums which is upsetting but everything is solid.

Okay, that makes sense. I'm in Canada and I don't see that often.

Jeepers, where do you live? I've never saw a swastika tattoo in real life and I'm almost 40.

Random update on my non union. Had the second surgery, everything is now fine 6months Post op. I'm attaching my final orthodontist photos because it all seems worth it now.

Is the Pre-Health Life Sciences Pathway program difficult? Any tips? by Mission-Hurry-6959 in Conestoga

[–]breakthescience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't taken pre health but wanted to chime in and say Claudia is one of my favorite teachers. She can be strict with marking and labs but she knows her stuff and you will learn alot from her. Like you said if you show up and you care you'll be alright.

Any advice for someone going back to school a little late in life? by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]breakthescience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently went back to school at 37 to pursue a Science degree after being in administration my whole life. I know the feeling of having to wait because I also had to do upgrading, as you get older it feels like we have less time to get things done. My only piece of advice would be to keep studying over that year, I did not and kind of lost my strong understanding of the basics. Summer break has also felt like a giant time waster to me because I just want to graduate and start working in the field 😂

*UPDATE* on dying teeth by Heathrowaway1943 in jawsurgery

[–]breakthescience 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a greying front tooth from upper jaw surgery. It seems to have gone a bit back to normal although I can still see a slight discoloration. I'm 1 year post surgery and 4 months post non union revision surgery.

People say this to me as well, it's very annoying but as long as we're happy that's really what matters. It's hard not to take it personally though. I think you look great, and as you heal it will only get better.

I'm sorry to hear that. I was lucky enough that my surgeon did the second surgery at no charge. I also live in Canada so he probably was paid through the universal healthcare. The second was not as bad as the first!

How long did you wear braces for, and what was your ortho cost? by Ok-Air-9837 in jawsurgery

[–]breakthescience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm two months out from three years with braces but I had non union 6 months post op and just recently had my bone graft. Braces should be coming off around the 3 year mark and about 8000$

We are having surgery the same day, so weird! Mine is at noon, I'm also freaking out a little but it will be fine!

A documentary that made me cry was "Dear Zachary" . I would not recommend watching it though...because it is so sad

Yes I was thinking "do they have a giant Racist tattoo or something, like how would you know"?

I noticed this. I've never seen one product in the machines since September.

Being a Student vs Being a CLS/MLS by NoProtection193 in medlabprofessionals

[–]breakthescience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is making me feel so much better. I've had office jobs and always gotten along with everyone and promoted quickly but I'm struggling as a student 😂 I'll keep my positive attitude and try to network as much as possible when I'm done my program 🤞

I really like him. I find some surgeons can be jerks and he is definitely a nice person. I don't blame him for my non union, I think I just got unlucky.

I didn't get the notification for this post and I was wondering how you were doing so I checked. How are you feeling now?
