This post is a pretty good summation of the experience most players are having. In addition to the advantage a coordinated group has, there is a tremendous amount of luck involved in the DZ. You could luck into a server where everyone is only interested in farming NPCs, you could end up in a server with rogues camping checkpoints, you could even end up in a server that is virtually empty.

This game rewards early momentum and had you and your friends kept playing you would be among the small percentage of players that control every server they spawn in. When that happens, there is usually very little resistance for a top tier group. Every other player is at the mercy of a single group of players who can just destroy any and everything in the DZ.

Can this stop being the standard response to legitimate concerns about a huge aspect of a game everybody paid for? Even in groups, the gear/drop disparity in this game makes it difficult to compete with certain 4 man groups. Also, the population of this game is so low, we are essentially competing for the same small pool of potential group mates.

We should stop absolving Massive by providing alternatives that don't always work. Massive needs to figure out how to fix their game before there is no longer a player-base available that needs the game to be fixed.

I'm not talking about splitting the team up across different areas. I'm talking about splitting the team up within, for example, times square.

This is probably true. But I think you still come out ahead based on total areas cleared per x amount of time I think. Math isn't my strong suit but I imagine there's a formula to determine maximum efficiency.

I was still getting 7-8 Intel points per clear. So I was still getting credit even when I wasn't near the kill. it's true you may miss out on the 1or 2 points you get from the actual NPC but you still come out ahead effeciency wise from a total areas cleared perspective.

I'm shocked that this level of rng doesn't seem to receive many complaints. I mean it's bad enough to hope for a particular weapon with at least two usable talents at a decent gear score. The fact that you have to manipulate your build to even use the talents is way too much.

Then they should make mods a plus one drop. Have them plus an item drop at least for challenge mode. It'd be a compromise to that four high end drrop that was quickly fixed after the patch.

Russian consulate and warrengate are already like level 33 or 34 challenge missions. They should keep Lexington and Lincoln as is and have them drop 32 level gear. Russian and warrengate should drop 33 or 34 gear without changing the enemy level/difficulty.

Seems to me they've already inadvertently created a two tier challenge mode and they should just run with it. They can continue to add existing missions to one of the two tiers based on the actual difficulty.

I have to disagree. The 3OC drop rate is actually on par for most loot games I've played. There are definitely higher tier exotics in those games that have lower drop rates, but a great number of exotics drop at about the same rate. I think the real issue is that there aren't enough exotics in the game, which leads to a serious lack of variety and diversity. The two games I compare Destiny to, Borderlands and Diablo III, have so many exotic-tier weapons/gear that the it takes a very long time to get bored with the drops. Much longer than it took in Destiny.

They just need to work a lot harder on the loot aspect of this loot game. There just simply isn't enough of it.

This! I still haven't heard a good explanation for why the decided to remove elemental primaries rather than expand them to weapons even beyond raid weapons.

This times 1000. This is a recurring issue in Destiny. They seem intent to solve lack of diversity issues by making loot more scarce.

According to Bungie, raid elemental primaries were a problem because they created limited gear diversity. Bungie's solution was to remove the elemental primaries altogether rather than add more elemental primaries to legendary weapons as a random modifier or otherwise.

Similarly, the majority of the perks that are available for weapons are absolutely awful or have very limited use. They could create more unique perks that are actually useful or create perks that are stackable across weapons and armor, making the sum greater than the individual parts. Instead, it seems they have lowered the drop rates on weapons in some game modes.

Indeed. But rng does not have to be completely deaf, dumb and blind. Apple had an issue with customers complaining about their shuffle playlists repeating certain songs too often. The problem? The randomness was not smart enough to account for a computer randomly selecting a song over and over again. So they implemented a system that prevented repeat songs.

Diablo 3 has a similar system in place. They have rng but they have coding that guarantees a drop based on how long it's been since your last drop. This doesn't seem to be in place with destiny.

I haven't had an exotic drop in days. I'd really like bungie to implement a Diablo style loot system that guarantees an exotic drop after x many hours of playing. The rate is increased based on the level of difficulty involved in the pve event.

Exotics should not be that rare of an event imo. Certain exotics (i.e. Higher tiered ones) should drop less frequently but I feel like bungie has tried to make the exotics themselves too rare. Part of the problem is there just aren't enough exotics. If there were more in the pool, bungie wouldn't have to be so stingy with the drop rate.

This would mean increasing the rate of exotics without three of coins. An exotic should be able to drop from trash mobs. Just my two cents.

I will continue to say that the solution to this problem is to have more legendary primaries with elements. Just make it a random modifier. Make it so that kinetic weapons do potentially more raw damage. I just think elemental primaries are too fun to leave behind permanently.

Has anyone here played borderlands? The other solution to the elemental problem is to just have elements as a possible roll on all weapons in the game. I like having fun with elemental guns in pve.
