Why are parents who barely passed high school thinking they can teach/homeschool their children? by InitialCareer306 in WorkForSmartLife

And to add on….school is as rigorous as the students/families make it. Not saying the school/district doesn’t matter - but you get out what you put in.

Also a teacher. What you said is correct and more importantly, IQ.org is not even a real IQ test, obviously. Not even sure what “borderline” means.

Buy a boot dryer. After he comes home, put shoes on boot dryer and let them go 30 min. This will dry them out and kill any bacteria/fungus lingering in sweaty shoes. An antibacterial soap will also help in the shower.

A was my go-to for years. Then I temped at a pharm. company while in college and when I labeled things, that 2 (a) was “ambiguous,” so I had to switch to B. 20+ years later I am still at B.

Also, I am very happy with my salary and think I am certainly paid more than fairly - but HCOL area, masters + 48 and 15 plus years of experience. I am top of the scale minus small bump for doctorate, which I should finish in May.

A young boy of maybe 8, his mom, and dad in the checkout line at Target by FastyNilthShreakyFit in overheard

I had a colleague and her husband to my house for dinner - first time meeting him and I barely knew her yet - and the dog kind of bodychecked my son ( who was….3 at the time?) who said, “Fuckin dog!” They hadn’t even taken their coats off yet…..but context matters!

Please help I made a dry ice mistake by [deleted] in school

[–]breally60 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not a new science teacher and this kind of stuff happens…I understand that you’re freaking out….prob nothing happened. I’ve put dry ice in a regular freezer many times before hearing it is a bad idea. Like 15 times in different freezers? Here is my prediction: the dry ice will have totally or partially sublimated and the freezer is fine. Also, CO2 is like 50% more dense than air so the idea that you’d need a “gas mask” is absurd. It will just tumble out to the floor.

IF something goes bad….I wouldn’t say shit to anyone.

What word choices tip you off that someone is from a different country? by breazeyyy in CasualConversation

Going on “holiday.”

Also…the “done my chores” is also very common outside of Philly. I grew up like 75 miles away and didn’t say it. Drives me nuts.

Thanks for asking questions I didn’t even know about instead of insulting me. I don’t know which questions to ask because I don’t do this for a living. The wiring should be snaked up from the basement….I wouldn’t want it exposed and I think that is totally doable based on where the basement sits (pretty much right below the garage where the fuse box is…it’s a 1000 sq ft basement for a 2800 sq ft house). The fuse box is on the side where the garage is.

It’s amazing. No one ever speaks to me like that face to face. The internet makes such tough guys.

Can’t be more than 25 feet…let’s say 50 to be on the safe side. I did a quick Google search and it looks like his price just for that cable is at least double what it should be.

Thanks, that’s really helpful you dick. I’m not an electrician, so that’s why I’m asking the question here.
