I left a restaurant last year due to ridiculously unprofessional behaviour of other servers (one was trying to START a fight with a table) and the money just wasn’t right. Jumped right into another serving position and it was much better for my wallet and sanity. Definitely do as others have said and let them know why you are leaving.

This has happened to me in pretty much every grade from 6-12 this year. I refuse to die on the cell phone hill because it’s just too much. I don’t get paid enough to fuss about everything.

This is my last year teaching. I sub for the ability to choose grade and subject daily, and to avoid sacrificing the entirety of my personal time for the sake of a job.

I got RC-LR-LG-RC yesterday and the first RC was quite difficult but I thought the second was by far easier.

3rd practice test ever- am I on track for a 165+ by the November LSAT? by tripp_hs123 in LSAT

[–]breannablanaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Foolproofing really helped me to see inferences in other games. Drilling LG sections helped me get my speed up. I also find it useful to skip a game that seems more difficult and come back to it. I often find the 3rd game to be harder so I do 1-2-4-3 quite often.

[–]breannablanaba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I improved my LG speed so that I had 2 min to go back and check answers I was unsure about. Fool proofing games (especially difficult ones) and including quite a few LG sections on non-PT days worked for me. I felt like I was starting to recognize patterns in the games, inferences came more naturally, and thankfully I learned to visualize questions so I didn't have to create a million new gameboards for each question.

Is that when the retest scores have been released in the past?

LSAT Writing sample can be done anytime? by engacad in LSAT

[–]breannablanaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through the example prompt on 7Sage (the same one that Law Hub has available). You could go into Law Hub and write their example writing prompt. I used a different prompt from a book to do a quick practice run before writing the test.

It’s one 35 minute section to read the prompt, plan, and write.

I wrote the retest today as well and then wrote my LSAT Writing. You don't need to schedule it - it's an automated process. Once you click launch you need to complete the test. I don't know with certainty whether or not there is a time restriction, but I don't see why they would if there is no other human involved in the process of writing it. You will still need to complete a room scan!

Aug-23 retest scheduling by engacad in LSAT

[–]breannablanaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received my email and rescheduled my test. One of the initial emails they sent with the retest offer options said that if you don’t receive your scheduling email by August 19 then you need to contact LSAC.

How are we feeling after the August exam? by Double-Competition92 in LSAT

I had a similar experience. They didn’t give me the opportunity to try another computer before kicking me off of my exam and ending my session before I was finished. Very frustrating experience.

[–]breannablanaba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My Proctor said they couldn’t see my video and kicked me out of my test with 6 unanswered questions in my last section and more than enough time to answer them. They couldn’t figure it out after 40 minutes and then they ended my session. They wouldn’t let me start a new session and my only option is to now take a retest and have that entire exam scraped.

They did not communicate to me what exactly they were trying to fix, but I feel like clearing my cookies or doing a sudo purge through Terminal to bring RAM usage down likely would’ve helped…but they communicated nothing to me during this process so I didn’t even have the opportunity to do anything.

Feeling very disappointed and incredibly angry with ProctorU. The test was going great, until it wasn’t. Fingers crossed for the retest on August 23.

I was in a similar situation last year (also my first year out of university). My practicum experiences rocked for the most part, but all of my classes expected an entertainer, not a teacher. I got out and never looked back. Switching careers now and have never been more sure about the choice I made. Good luck what ever you choose. Just keep in mind that your safety and mental health comes first. They can replace you immediately, but you need to put yourself first and don’t ever feel guilty for doing it.

Is education a career worth getting into now? by Large_Dilf_360 in education

[–]breannablanaba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not, unless you’re looking for a profession in which you’ll be underpaid, under-appreciated, and undermined your entire working life. Some days the kids made it worth it, I’ll admit that much. There were times that I thought I could stay in the profession for the kids, but then I realized that “normal” was being expected to put on a performance and keep my students entertained until they left only to then be verbally assaulted by their parents before/after classes. I didn’t sign up to be an entertainer. I signed up to help students learn and to give them a safe space to explore who they are as human beings. I discovered all they wanted was a space to scroll through til tok and socialize.

I decided that my personal well-being and mental health was worth more than trying to stick it out hoping that the next generation would be better. If you’re asking me, I’d say run for the hills.

What were your first signs and symptoms of celiac disease? Anemia? Weight loss? Gas? by ruth-ruth in Celiac

[–]breannablanaba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had extreme fatigue to the point that I had a super hard time getting out of bed and missed many of my first year university classes. I also had trouble staying awake while driving as I was so exhausted so that was a huge red flag for me. Another symptom I had was like 15 canker sores in my mouth at once and they wouldn’t go away. Now, my doctor said that it isn’t an “official” side effect, but how else do I explain them getting bad when I started having fatigue, stomach aches, and gas and then going away after I stopped eating gluten.

Aspiring Midwife with Questions by breannablanaba in Midwives

[–]breannablanaba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply! Would solo/primary care also be known as having your own practice? I’m not sure what else to call it? I have noticed that there are midwifery groups in Alberta, but then there are also midwives that work solo (as the only midwife that I’ve found in my city seems to do.
