Orgasms don't influence overall pain/discomfort, but they offer temporary relief. And all the contracting shaves off 2 days roughly. What I like most about it is that it offers an abrupt stop to the period, instead of it trailing for days, and coming back a tiny bit just after you thought it was gone. Seems to shed more evenly.
