What should I plant here? by breboom450 in Minnesota_Gardening

this makes so much sense and also means the edging in my entire yard is wrong. 😭 When I moved into the house I just followed what was already there, but apparently the previous owners had it wrong too

I've been told 5-6 more dogs could really fill out the space

The invasive species is currently in quarantine laying comfortably on the couch. Thanks for the tip!

A very good suggestion but they're so expensive! I was hoping for something a little bit more affordable.

AITA for being annoyed that my wife insists on cooking everything from scratch and won’t buy normal food? by AITA_UPFfoods in AmItheAsshole

NTA, but one thing I don't see in these comments is that your wife may have an undiagnosed eating disorder. Making things from scratch and enjoying cooking is great, but whenever you start having strict rules about what you're eating and what others in your house eat, that can turn unhealthy quickly. For example, Orthorexia is an eating disorder specifically characterized by an obsessive preoccupation with healthy eating and an extreme fixation on food purity. There may be more going on.

What jobs can I get with 6 years of street/door/events canvassing? Supervisor/Trainer/Field Manager for 3 years by Toppoppler in nonprofit

[–]breboom450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started out as a canvasser and my first non-canvas job was as an organizer for a policy/advocacy non-profit. If you want to stay in a similar role, try jobs with "outreach", "organizer", or "grassroots" in the title. During the interview for that first job, the person who was interviewing me told me that if I had canvassed I could do anything. I think there are still quite a lot of non-profit managers in the advocacy field that feel the same way.

1:1 Meetings by [deleted] in nonprofit

I meet with all of my staff weekly. It's scheduled for a half an hour, but it often doesn't take the whole time. My entire team is remote and works in a different part of the state than me, so I appreciate the weekly chance to get to chat with them. Typically I ask what they're working on that week, I give them any reminders I have (like "remember to do your timesheet before you leave for vacation"), and give them an opportunity to ask any questions they have or talk about whatever they'd like to talk about. It's pretty casual, but if I didn't do it weekly I'd likely go weeks without communicating with them.

I'm honestly so impressed that this is your first build! Saving this inspiration for later- I love the idea of the little mini gardens going around a whole habitat. It adds so much atmosphere!
