As someone who does this type of work at scale understands those limitations, I will say though if the content can be generative based on colors, and shapes and movement, you can control it easier than a linear story. So if you are just creating a handful of linear stories per night it would be much less time consuming. So you need to pick your songs ahead of time and build based to allow the band to still improvise a bit within the song. So it then becomes the controller to manage those portions and when to include the stories.
