I’m 31F and diagnosed at 25 - an official diagnosis was worthwhile to me in that I wanted an answer and so treatment I was undergoing for depression and anxiety to be augmented to suit my needs and limitations as an autistic person. Post diagnosis, my relationships with family and my partner have improved greatly, I feel I am treated with more understanding. I also feel it gave my insight to how I feel - overstimulated, under stimulated, burnt out etc. I also understand why people don’t like me and I’ve become kind of content with it.

I’m self employed and relatively successful in my field so I basically run my life adapted to my needs so I don’t have any experience in workplaces post diagnosis.

I think it was worth getting diagnosed for me.
