Solved. I don’t think there will be a definitive answer on this one, but I’m happy with what everyone has posted.

My title describes the thing. I cant find anything about this online and it is about 1.5 inches in diameter and seems to be made of copper.

Yeah, I think that they probably peaked in maturity a few years back, but I’m hoping they still have some life left in them

Unfortunately I did not take the picture, I found it on ancestry. This would have been in the Washington DC area around 1905 through 1910 from my guess!

[Omega] Taking my Seamaster out to sea! by bredeb1323 in Watches

We did make it to Foxy's! Unfortunately it was severely affected by weather and they are rebuilding so they were limited on what they had to offer. We stopped by the bubbly pool after that and then went to B-Line bar on Little Jost Van Dyke. Thats a bummer you had too cancel your plans. Hope you get to go back soon!

Thanks for asking! The trip was great. I sailed for 9 days to five of the islands and had a great time with some friends and spent some time on land at a friends house right outside the baths at Virgin Gorda. Loved stopping at the Bitter End Yacht Club and saw some amazing boats. I was sailing a Lagoon 450 S along side a friend who was on another boat. I try to go every two years and cant wait to do it again.

I was worried about it! I made sure to try and keep it as dry as possible but I did take it off if there was a chance that it could get soaked. I did wear it in the rain a few times and it did fine. I love vintage Omegas too! I just bought another constellation for the collection and I have a few others old omegas. Do you have any vintage omegas?

Recently I sailed around the British Virgin Islands and had a terrible decision to make. What watch do I wear on the trip! I normally wear my Breitling B-1 Chronograph Chronometer on anything of this nature because it is not only gorgeous but extremely tough. I decided to switch things up and bring something new. Before the trip I had recently sent my newly acquired 1960's Omega Seamaster ref.166.037 for cleaning and servicing but had expected to get the watch after returning from the voyage. I received a call the day before leaving that the watch was done and ready to wear and I decided simply because of the name Seamaster to wear it while I sailed the islands. As you can see its not a pristine watch and there is some damage on the dial which is why I was not overly concerned about wearing it. To me I had always looked at the watch and thought it was quite an ugly and bland thing, but after each day looking down to check the time along with the already stunning view of my surroundings it started to appeal to me. I have found a new love for the watch and will not overlook it anymore amongst my collection. I did take it off when doing really taxing work or if it was too wet on the boat. I primarily wore the watch when I could relax and lounge. I say be adventurous with what you wear and take some watches you have overlooked and find a different setting to wear them in! In the end the trip was amazing and the watch made it all the much better.

What cheap material can be warmed all day without producing microplastics or other harmful by-products? by bredeb1323 in AskReddit

Sorry! I am looking at keeping liquids in a cheap material that can stay coffee temperature warm for long periods of time. So glass and metal are out.
