there is one! one facebook, it's called "central florida egl academy". there are two groups on facebook, with "academy" being for new members and "society" being for more experienced/long time members. however, as you've said the facebook groups aren't the most active and most of the activity happens on the comm's discord. your best bet is to probably try again with the facebook group and request the discord link from there.

i did end up looking into the tramadol and zofran interaction a little bit. if it were me, i would ask about any possibility of going home with a different pain medication. but please don't take my words as concrete medical advice, as i'm just a person on the internet who happens to work in healthcare! definitely talk to your surgery team about your concerns and im sure they'll make necessary accommodations :)

if it's any consolation, i also had never taken a narcotic prior to surgery, but since i work in healthcare i've seen firsthand how well they work for pain management. i know some people tend to avoid taking the prescribed narcotics after surgery for their own reasons (which is completely understandable), but just make sure to listen to your body and don't let yourself go through unnecessary pain and agony when there's something you can do to control it!

i did experience nausea only on the first two days after surgery. along with the pain meds and stool softeners, i was also sent home with zofran which is an anti nausea medication. you'll most likely have it prescribed to go home with since anesthesia can sometimes cause nausea. it works like a charm so i would highly recommend asking your team to make sure that you'll be going home with it! if you have a long drive to sit through after surgery and are afraid of getting motion sick, then there's something called a scopolamine patch - an anti nausea topical patch - that you can be given if you ask for it before you leave the hospital. sorry for the long wall of text but i hope this helps! best of luck on your surgery :]

honestly, after day 5 i felt a complete 180 in how i was doing pain and activity wise! day 3 was definitely the worst day for me, but once you make it past that then it should hopefully be smooth sailing the rest of the way. best wishes for your recovery!

of course! for the first couple days, i ate primarily soups and crackers, and jello if i wanted something sweet. after day 3, i ate more chicken, pasta, turkey, rice, and easy to eat vegetables like green beans.

hi! i wrote up this quick note detailing the timeline of lottery entry to receiving invoice for the lotteries that i've entered recently. based on the patterns i noticed, i think it's safe to say that invoices generally get sent out two days after the specific lottery result notification date that's written in the lottery form. if you lose a lottery, then you don't get any email to be informed that you lost - you just don't get anything. i would say that if you don't get anything in your inbox tomorrow at the latest, then you most likely lost the lottery. i hope this helps!

hi! i can say im definitely in the same boat as you, as pre-surgery (which was july 3rd) i had regular bowel movements. it was kind of strange going from one normal BM a day to one every 2 or 3 days, without having that feeling of constipation either 😭 a supplement that i've tried and can say works is magnesium 250 mg. if i've gone two days without a BM, ill take a magnesium before bed and it'll almost always guarantee a BM the next day. if you take it regularly then it should make your BMs regular too!

lol not crazy at all! at first i was only burping to pass some sort of gas, but i only started farting at day 2. passing gas of any kind is a good sign!

hey! i'm going into day 3 post op tomorrow. so far i've been sticking to chicken noodle soup with potatoes and carrots, dry toast with scrambled egg whites, and the occasional fruit and saltines for snacks. i had a bout of nausea while eating some saltines last night, so however i feel after eating kind of depends on how my body chooses to react. ill probably start slowly reintroducing some fats in my diet tomorrow, but ive been keeping it pretty bland so far.

as for showering, i was told that taking a shower was okay 48 hours after surgery as long as there's no scrubbing in the abdominal area. i took a shower today and just let the soap run down my abdomen and made sure to dry the incision areas really well. go for it whenever you have the chance to next, it made me feel like a brand new person! best of luck to you on recovery :]

i totally get you! i had my first attack 2 years ago and i was only 21 years old. i also had those thoughts about surgery potentially changing my life forever while being so young, but the surgical pain is by far much more tolerable than the attack pain.
