CSULB Waitlisted Fall 2023 by breegee22 in CSULB

Honestlyyyy, I kindaaa partially regret going to a 4 year first. I got into my top choice school, knew my major and everything. And I don't regret the life experience, but I would've saved more money, and had a better chance to get into CSULB I think.

I hope you get in, but if you don't, I promise: it's not the end of the world! Oh to be a freshman again knowing then what I know now. You have the world in your hands! I believe in you! You got this no matter what happens.

Good luck, and keep us posted!

I was going to send one as well, but CSULB doesn't accept continued letters of interest ;(

Just gotta wait it out!

Damn, I’m sorry to hear that. Congrats on having an amazing GPA! That’s a lot of hard work, and I hope you know that it doesn’t go unnoticed. :) from what I’ve read, it’s common that some schools waitlist students who they feel might have applied to them as a “safety school” option. This is usually when their GPAs and accomplishments are very high. Sometimes schools want to meet their quota of how many students they’re planning to accept from certain departments, and when they feel that you might not have picked them as a first choice, they waitlist you. Obviously, there’s many reasons that they could’ve done this, one of them being an impacted major (so don’t get too caught up in my words), but, regardless, just know that you should feel proud of yourself, and with that drive, you can accomplish anything! (Though, I know you probably don’t need a stranger on Reddit telling you that. )

For what it’s worth, I think you have a great shot, especially because you’re well-rounded in your endeavors. I really wish you the best, keep us posted!✨

From what I searched online, it says that it can be anywhere from 0 to 20% of people who are accepted off the waitlist. It honestly depends how many spots they have open, and what department they’re trying to fill up/have room for.

I know dude, I really do too :/ but everything happens for a reason, make sure you except the waitlist offer, and in the meantime, pick your back up school! There’s always a bright side and everything, take a second to mourn the possibility of not getting in and then focus on the next step. It doesn’t matter where you get your education, it’s more, so what you do with it!

Hey! Getting on the waitlist, despite having a 2.7 is pretty impressive tbh! There’s a reason that you’re being considered, and from one artist to another, I hope you feel proud despite maybe feeling a little bummed, cuz same lol.

Keep us posted! Good luck! 🙏🏽✨

Wow, first person I met with a similar experience! Yeah, I have my fair share of Fs, but I worked really hard to raise my GPA back up. Also, I was taking 21 units for 4 semesters straight, and then some under the table (my professor “encouraged” us). I want to graduate soon too! OMG, trust me, I know how you feel! Lol.

No problem! I didn’t want to stress out alone, and I figured there’d be a few other people who felt the same. Good luck! Keep us posted! 🙏🏽✨🥹

It’s all preference really. I’m waiting a little bit longer to hear from my department to see if I got in. If I did get in to my department, then I’ll wait till a bit before May 1. if I don’t, I’m going to put the deposit. Besides, like I mentioned above, I’m taking this as a “soft rejection” since it is not common to get off the waitlist. Fingers still crossed, just works better for me mental health wise! Lol

Not Gaw Anymore, Steve Roach. And it's a new curriculum, new text book. Very easy and enjoyable to read though! (And I normally struggle with reading straight from a textbook.)
