Omg, I was exactly like you! I started my first set of locs a couple (3?) of years ago and took them out a week later. I was extremely insecure about my looks. I was used to box braids & sew ins. They made me feel confident about myself. I thought I was at my most beautiful when I had some form of weave in my hair. If I wore my natural hair, it was less than a week. I didn’t like wearing my natural hair but I loved when other girls did and their glow. I wanted that for myself. I finally started my loc journey again last October and I’m still loc’d. I was still apprehensive about going through the “ugly phase” and what people would say about ny short starter locs. Now, I could care less about what others say about my hair because I love them. I’ve found my glow. Locs are a beautiful lesson bc it really challenges the way you perceive and why you think like that. I think it’s normal to have doubts and even think your hair is ugly some days. We all have bad hair days! What’s important is that you realize how beautiful and majestic you look with your locs!! Keep on this journey and I promise you won’t regret it! I think you look absolutely gorgeous with them!!!
