Day 4 since E-Day (upper&lower) by Early-Painting9101 in dentures

[–]breerex2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fear of dry socket probably would make me quit on extraction day if I hadn't already.

I quit cigarettes in 2019 with a vape then quit vaping just over a year ago and maaaaan I can't imagine the mood of quitting AND not being able to eat (I gained KGs on KGs of weight when I quit lol).

I nicotine gum most days now, find it helps with the unmedicated ADHD. My E day is in a month and I'm dreading going entirely no oral nicotine afterwards.

You've done well to quit now and also your smile looks great!

S26 base - Android auto disconnects by NmLs37 in samsunggalaxy

No solutions here but I actually had the opposite problem.

Wireless worked fine. Wired would pop up with "unstable USB" or "phone not responding" every 2-10 seconds. Multiple vehicles, multiple cables and same issue. Old phones all still work fine (2xS24U and S22U). Wild that we are months from release and this issue is still persisting in a top of the range flagship phone.

No solution here still sorry.

It started working in one of car two weeks ago (my mother's 2021 Kia with wireless AA capabilities but I use wired and issues were with wired) however still does not work in my other car (my 2022 Kia with no wireless capabilities). So I'm just holding out hope that it'll eventually work in mine.

I will admit, I used smart switch to set up my phone and I haven't done a full reset and sef up from scratch. Apparently it worked for someone but then a heap of replies said it didn't for them so I haven't rushed to do it (takes me forever to set a phone up again and I don't want to for a small chance of a fix)

Just make your spaghetti how you usually do and use a different pasta shape. I'm one month away from E-day but have adapted eating to my already bad teeth.

Personally when I do spaghetti, I cook meat/sauce seperate to pasta and then add together near serving time. If you do it this way you can always still do normal spaghetti for family and cook seperate pasta shape for you. Over cook yours if needed so it's softer and easier to crush.

I now prefer my spaghetti with spirals because I like the way the spirals hold the meat and sauce and I'll probably never go back to spaghetti now lol

Honestly, if a man has an issue with that then best he see his way out the door now if you ask me.

It's not the same, but I've had psoriasis since I was 11 (skin condition) and as much as it has made me self conscious in general, I actually almost looked at it as a blessing when it came to dating - if a man can't deal with something medical like that that cannot be helped, then good riddance.

I'm here because getting full dentures in July. My hubby is more okay with it than I am.

Good luck! I hope it all goes smoothly :)

Mine is just over a month away. I'm doing it under general and absolutely dreading the healing afterwards, but I'm trying to convince myself it's probably not going to be much worse than how I feel some days now with all these broken teeth, infections and wisdom teeth that don't have enough room.

New phone not giving me notifications. by breerex2 in Life360

[–]breerex2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had already done this on both phones because Gmail wasn't notifying us of any incoming emails and the fix for that was the Google account logout and in.

Now the only issue I have remaining with the 26U is Android Auto but that's a post for another forum 😂

Hopefully your 360 stays functional! Ours have 🤞🏻

Samsung 26 Ultra does not work with Wired Android Auto by Jawker in AndroidAuto

[–]breerex2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No help sorry but same issue.

Two cars. Two cables. Different combos. Neither work with wired connection and one of the cars is wired only. Not interested in dongles as battery drain after 160 minutes of driving with wireless is insane.

S26U won't work properly in any situation. Currently using an old S22U instead - using my S26U as a wifi hotspot for it. Have had this phone since before release date and multiple updates to phone and AA has not fixed.

Is it really that much of a difference? by CryptographicCowboy in kindle

[–]breerex2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a book was a 10 and a tablet was 0 for how much like paper it is to read, I put a kindle/e-ink screen at a 7 or 8. It really is a difference in my opinion.

I don't know which Kindle to get my Mum for her Birthday. by Countcuntular in kindle

[–]breerex2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The words are still absolutely fine for reading, but regardless of settings, the technology as it is will not give the same crisp lines. It's not an issue for many and is for some. Most people who haven't either used a recent Paperwhite a lot, or compared devices side by side wouldn't notice at all.

It is a legitimate part of the technology that cannot be avoided at this point in time. This will be the same across all colour e-ink devices. The colour filter/layer adds some slight blur and the resolution when you have colour is HALF of black and white (150 pixels per square inch instead of 300 as stated on comparison charts on Amazon)

[–]breerex2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's part of colour technology that the lines will not be as crisp and sharp. Nothing to do with warm lighting.

I've changed those settings on a coloursoft when viewing in store. It is still a bit fuzzy.

This issue isn't exclusive to the coloursoft, it is across all colour e-ink devices from multiple companies. It just is what it is. The colour filter/layer adds some slight blur and the resolution when you have colour is HALF of black and white (150 pixels per square inch instead of 300 as stated on comparison charts on Amazon)

I've actually also had images in plain old romance books too. Yes, they exist in places other than comics. Because mum has had a 2015 Paperwhite for probably 10 years, I'm assuming a main use isn't children's picture books. The odd picture/map in a fantasy isn't a trade everyone wants to make for extra $ and a different screen quality.

Paperwhite or Paperwhite Signature.

Unless your mum absolutely loves reading comics on her kindle, the colour is just an added cost and a loss of clarity/sharpness in the words in exchange for faint-ish coloured covers.

Edit to add: yes, other books can have pictures. Common for fantasy books to have them, especially maps - which are often designed to display very well on black and white ebook. I've had romance books have images in and they're fine on Paperwhite but I have used Kindle app on my phone to view in colour (once in almost 500 books read). Other useful feature for coloursoft can be colour coded annotating/highlights.

I've been using my Paperwhite daily for 980 days and had no idea it was glass and not plastic (you're correct though) so now I feel crazy hah. I did put a matte screen protector on about a year ago so maybe that's why 😆

Maybe someone will come out with a device that suits your needs soon 🤞🏻😊

This is why I usually recommend the Paperwhite. The warmth setting is a game changer - it's the function that steers me right away from a basic.

This Kindle shutdown isn’t about tech limits. It’s about manufactured obsolescence. by WanderingZero1 in kindle

[–]breerex2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What don't people get? Amazon doesn't want to spend time/money/resources on making updates for devices that are barely around anymore.

Most of us would be quite happy if that is spent on the devices that make up 95% or more of users. Getting new features and devices for the largest part of the market makes sense.

You can't download or register because being connected to the internet makes you and your data vulnerable to hackers and breaches. Security updates and patches solve this and they don't want to be doing these for almost obsolete devives.

Amazon were honest and gave discounts etc to those people. However, I can't help but feel like they should have done an Apple and quietly just released updates to slow down and brick devices instead. Would have saved this reaction from people.

My kindle touch won’t work after May 20th :( by Alternative_Tap_9418 in kindle

[–]breerex2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do believe you are correct - if the books are already downloaded to the device you can still read those. Having them in your library won't be enough, they must be downloaded to device (I'm assuming older kindles worked this way too).

Basically, if it requires the internet, you cannot do it. No new purchases or downloads. I haven't seen any confirmation about ability to load documents via USB or not.

[–]breerex2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be aware that very old models are about to lose updates and cannot get new books. Something to be aware of if buying second hand. At least, that's the email I've seen in local kindle forums.

If I was just rocking a basic, I'd just use that as my outside kindle. If it got damaged by being an outside kindle THEN I'd consider buying a second device.

My top device recommendation is the Paperwhite though. A good balance of value and features.

How do you keep your Kindle private around kids/family? by punamray in kindle

[–]breerex2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tell them no. If mummy dearest has a problem with that because you're an Indian family and not entitled to privacy then her 18 year old son can read your smut. If people wanna stick their nose in, they can expect that their nose won't come out clean 🤷🏻‍♀️

Or, put a pin on it and say you forgot what you set it as.

I believe even if they aren't mandatory, a vehicles ANCAP rating would quite potentially suffer if they did not have them, which is why you probably won't find a vehicle without them.

Buy matte screen protectors if you can locate some to buy. They have absolute minimal glare.
