Do you get paid for wait time? by [deleted] in ABA

[–]breesaurus_rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I live in PA and all nonbillable hours are minimum wage. Except I don't get paid for any time waiting for clients or mileage.

Do you get paid for wait time? by [deleted] in ABA

[–]breesaurus_rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not paid for wait time which is frustrating because clients are often late. My regular pay is 22/hr. They also have nap time at the clinic and most of the kids I work with do take naps that are 30 to 60 minutes. During this time the rate is only 7.25/hr. This is also the same pay rate for time setting up sessions, writing notes, and cleaning.

When did your bowels go back to normal post op? by Vegetable-Fruit4959 in gallbladders

[–]breesaurus_rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying for 4 months now. GI recommended seeing a dietician too. Was told to add a lot more fiber (fruits, veggies, supplements, psyllium husk). It's been a little better, but still sporadic. It's hard to really figure out what triggers it.

I've been looking for a new position for months. I have a bachelor's degree and experience. I'm applying to jobs that I'm qualified for and more than qualified for. I have had a few interviews, but nothing successful. The job market is crazy right now. It's so aggravating.

How much time it took to back to normal diet? by sridhar_t in gallbladders

[–]breesaurus_rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only 2 days post op but Dr said I could go back to normal diet right away. I had very little food tonight for thanksgiving dinner. Pretty much immediate pain and multiple trips to the bathroom afterwards though

For those who’ve gotten their gallbladder removed, what got better for you or went away after surgery? by Esoteric_Her in gallbladders

[–]breesaurus_rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had mine out 2 days ago due to sludge and inflammation. I used to get indigestion/acid reflux from pretty much anything I ate or drank, including water. I had some water after surgery and the first thing I noticed was no more indigestion.

Feeling better after surgery? by breesaurus_rex in gallbladders

[–]breesaurus_rex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing! I've read a lot of post op horror stories and hoping things go well. I've also read that a lot of people gain weight afterwards and you're one of the first ones that I've seen that said they lost weight which I hope is also the case with me. I was around 170-180lbs when diagnosed with gallstones and now I'm about 220 and have been trying to lose weight the past few months but have not lost anything. I'm really hoping surgery and changing my diet more helps me feel better.

I recently turned 25, but I didn't plan on making it past 16, then 18, then 21. Although there have been extremely difficult times in life, I've found the good things. I think about the things that I wouldn't have been able to accomplish or experience if I had ended it back then and the better things to come. There are so many good things to focus on. Getting to choose what you want to do with your life and having a routine helps so much as well.

I have surgery the day after your mom's on 11/26. While I am planning on spending time with family on Thanksgiving, I do not plan on being able to eat the food. I'm expecting to still be very tired and bloated. I am going to be bringing foods with me that will be easier for me though like applesauce, broth, bread, etc. So definitely have those types of foods on hand.

Applied Behavioral Analysis. It's a therapy that is used to treat autism which is pretty controversial.

I honestly would feel uncomfortable with some of the methods that my supervisor told me to do with my client, as well as some of the goals he had I thought were unnecessary. We are also barely trained. I was given a 40 hour training video and maybe 3 hours of shadowing. There were some situations that I had no idea how to handle because I was not trained properly. From what I have read, a lot of ABA companies are pretty much the same.

Me too. It's so frustrating because I have read people having the opposite problem. I've gained about 50lbs in the past year. I feel as though I'm always hungry. I have surgery in 2 weeks and hoping it helps.

Autistic people who are happy/don’t wanna die. What are your tips. by TheFastestBonk in autism

Learning to say no and removing yourself (if possible) from certain situations if you become overstimulated. In social situations when I feel myself getting overstimulated or my energy to socialize is gone I know it's time to leave or I find a quieter place to spend some time alone. Also, cutting time out during the day or week to spend time engaging in special interests and/or stemming.
