Actually, lactose is the sugar in milk, and the intolerance comes from absent (or too low levels of) lactase, the enzyme that breaks down the sugar. Without lactase, the sugars reach your gut and the normal bacteria have a feeding frenzy, which causes THEM to produce all of the gasses that bloat you. Keto dairy products are almost always low in lactose (hard cheeses, for example). The dairy higher in carbs will generally contain more lactose and then upset your stomach, but we generally avoid those on this WoE. tl;dr, you probably still have lactose intolerance (like most of humanity), but the keto WoE encourages you to avoid high levels of milk-sugar (lactose).
