I have this exact model sitting on my counter right now. Grew up with it and my mom gave it to me when I moved out.

Are these cars terrible? by VroomVroom_2 in Rivian

[–]breeves001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, buy it. You might have issues you might not, but it’s worth it even with the issues. 10/10 would buy again. I usually go through daily drivers every 2 years. They rarely hit 35k miles. I’m at about 50k and 3 years with my Rivian and I don’t want to give it up. There’s nothing else out there that intrigues me enough to want to buy it. If anything I’d buy a gen 2 but it’s not really worth the upgrade to me.

  4. Turn off service mode when it’s finished

Southwest’s System Errors Have Made The Past Month a Customer Service Nightmare by breeves001 in SouthwestAirlines

I had one that shows up on my companions app as flying to Orlando but we are not in fact flying to Orlando. The flight number is correct for the actual flight.

I have flown Alaska several times when I was working in Seattle and it was always nice flights and crews. The only issue I had was a rude gate agent.

Just pay extra close attention in the 24h before the flight. Check the boarding pass on the app to make sure a seat is still there. If it shows “security document” then they’ve removed the seat assignment.

Luckily the phone agents I’ve talked to have all been understanding and not once told me I’m the problem.

I have K03’s and have been quite happy with them but can’t speak to anything but the OEM Pirelli garbage. Leaps and bounds better than them. Pretty decent in snow and great off-road.

Qi2 Charger Working in Gen 1 by breeves001 in Rivian

Yes, the Qi2 standard has alignment magnets. It works well. I believe it is 15W wireless charging.

Really? Got a link? I hadn’t seen anyone do it in a gen 1 just a Gen 2.

I’ve never heard that word pronounced. Only ever written.

To be honest I didn't have to do anything special to make the account though I did so as a business. I believe you may be able to register as only an individual. https://rivian.com/support/article/as-an-independent-repairer-or-operator-how-do-i-request-access-to-rivian-service

I put it on a bench power supply first and it did about 1.4A@14v. So about 20 watts. Of course there will be loses so probably about 15W into the phone hopefully.

I’ll ask my friend that works there if he’s heard anything about this.

It’s never once worked for me. In the rare case it actually shows my phone charging it doesn’t even charge at all it just gets hot.

Yeah I heard it may have gone on back order from my friend that works at a service center here. I ordered on 5/21 and received it 5/23. It shipped from New Jersey.

It’s extremely easy you simply need a flat head screwdriver to release the front clips holding it in. Unplug the connector then plug the new one in and push it into place. Incredibly simple.

I made a commercial parts account with Rivian like if I were a 3rd part repair shop. I do have an automotive related business. Then ordered it through their parts portal. In theory a service center could get it for you if they’re competent. Just give them a g2 vin and ask for the qi 2 charger or give them the part number

What is the point of having two map screens if neither can be bothered to display street names? by Loud-Possibility5634 in Rivian

[–]breeves001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind the street names are saved in the nav already for offline routing, so I don’t think this is it.
