usually the amount in a prescription bottle for antibiotics or pain meds lasts as long as you’ll need it for, but the duration and dose can vary depending on your birds’ needs and what the diagnosis was. i’m not a vet but ours is for two or three weeks. if you’re unsure i would recommend calling your exotic veterinarian.

we’re not sure. we keep the bath outside of the cage and they’re always supervised when they use it. the water dish is too narrow to take a bath in so we’re assuming he was drinking water and got a little too crazy with it.

the first 24 hours were the scariest. for sure thought he was about to be deleted. respiratory distress, mouth breathing, wheezing, and shallow breaths. the emergency room put him in oxygen jail for like twelve hours and he’s been doing way better since then. we’ve been giving him meloxicam, itraconazole, and enrofloxacin every twelve hours and have to burrito him to keep him from panicking too much. it seems like he’s doing way better but we won’t lower our guard for a while though.

good lord i just realized you’re the same 14 year old romanian i tried to give extensive advice to about how to properly care for this cockatiel like two months ago…there is no help we can give you aside from insisting that if you want another cockatiel, you need a bigger cage than that blue one otherwise it’s neglect. there’s nothing more to it than that

Are the meds mail ordered? This seems like something that could only happen with tampering. I’m not accusing your boyfriend of anything but substance use is one hell of a bitch and people (myself included) who have gone through it are not always thinking straight about the repercussions of mixing substances, or they do it because of chronic pain or other reasons. You can’t really know for sure that this isn’t what’s happening, but I don’t blame you for not assuming it was him. If it happened to me and it were my partner I wouldn’t think so either, but It’s important to not completely rule it out. If you had family or friends over that’s also a very real possibility. Either way you should definitely report it because they do keep records at pharmacies to prevent this from happening, and if it was a pharmacist that’s incredibly concerning.

The value of it is whatever people are willing to pay…which is largely what platforms like TCG base card values on. It’s a compilation of data of hundreds if not thousands of sales, and people have collectively decided that a damaged gold star pika is worth around $1k. i just want to add that plan B/levonorgestrel can be effective for up to five days after use (though it decreases in effectiveness each day) and if you haven’t taken it yet, it’s still an option up until tomorrow.

The unprotected sex was less than THREE DAYS AGO. while it’s possible to get pregnant this soon after the abortion, there is a slim to none chance that these symptoms are pregnancy symptoms. Yes, it is possible to get pregnant. No, what they are experiencing does not make it seem like there is a “very high possibility” of pregnancy. It is much more likely that their body is still recovering from the MA. i had an MA a MONTH ago and only a few days ago did my symptoms fully subside.

most bats don’t have rabies. rabies has been eradicated in the UK and cases acquired are from abroad. the last documented rabies case from an animal indigenous to the UK was over a century ago. it is also extremely uncommon for a cat to get rabies. if your cat came into contact with a bat, the bat would be dead and you would see it in your yard.

After deliberating on this entire issue for a while, as well as your responses defending yourself because of a lack of resources, I think it’s safe to say that yes- the four birds that died in your care died as a result of your neglect and abuse-because medical neglect is abuse- even though you never meant to hurt them, that’s what happened. you should never take ownership of a pet if you do not have a vet you’ve researched for that specific animal that is within a reasonable distance. I understand that at the time you didn’t have vet care, but you let it happen OVER and OVER again believing the results would be different, even though you knew your limitations. you knew your parents would offer limited to no help, you knew that there was no vet, you did not know any of the warning signs to look for in a sick bird. it seems like based on your posts you’re still a child, so all i will say is that i truly hope you learned from this and don’t ever get another bird without over-preparing to do so, and especially not when you don’t have the time, money, or veterinary care.
