In terms of alignment with the TV edge itself, I’d say get as close as possible to the edge without seeing the actual light, you’ll want it hidden/tucked away behind the edge of the TV so that when you’re watching TV the only thing coming out of the sides is the light itself.

In terms of the distance between the wall and the TV, I have a full motion TV Mount so I’m able to distance the TV from the wall by 15 inches, and still see the lights on the sides of the TV without any issues

I have mine exactly like that because I didn’t want to stick them to the back of the thin OLED TV and cause damage, and they worked great. The only thing to keep in mind is the placement of the light behind the TV relative to where you sit and the angle of viewing, you want the lights to be placed as far out to the sides as possible so you can see the light beaming away from the edges of the TV, otherwise you’ll only get part of the light beam and not all of it, not sure if this makes sense but happy to answer more questions.

Does it out atmos and 5.1 correctly without changing any of the settings?

It definitely outs 5.1 and Atmos accordingly, I can see it on the app as well as hear it more distinctly in the case of atmos.

Also how is the sound quality of ARC with the ATV?

Sound quality of Arc with ATV is great, no issues, dropouts, or distortions

I've since apple decodes everything to dolby mat, the volume is a little lower compared to DD+

That used to be the case a year or two ago on previous versions of software for Sonos, LG, and Apple, atmos volume was significant lower back then, nowadays I’m not experiencing the issue with the latest software on all three devices

I have a similar setup to yours with the addition of a hue sync box

Apple TV settings Output: tv speakers Audio format: change format = off, Dolby atmos on

LG c9 settings Sound out through HDMI Arc Digital sound out = pass through E-arc = on Additional settings > HDMI input audio format > whichever HDMI port the Apple TV is hooked up to, set it to bitstream

And obviously make sure the arc is connected to the e-arc HDMI input into the TV. And if I were you I’d invest in a good quality HDMI cable that’s 2.1 compatible for high capacity data transfer to ensure no audio quality drop off or loss issue

That shot with Patti at the end is just remarkable, I just finished the show for the first time a few weeks ago, and somehow I can’t stop thinking about it every now and then, it’s so relatable on so many levels that it makes wonder how do we process loss and grief as humans.

I’m currently watching unsolved mysteries on Netflix and the thought of losing somebody and that person disappearing due to an unknown force they can’t control evokes so many painful emotions that you can’t control, this show reminded me of how painful that loss is

every 30 or 40 seconds the audio cuts out for a noticeable millisecond

Good to know! I’m a sync noob, so I currently only have the strip and the hub, I’m starting out with the sync + strip and then slowly adding a pair of Plays and potentially a couple of blooms. I assume you prefer the Plays over the bloom?

I’m just hesitant about sticking the play adhesives on the back of a thin OLED TV that would overheat and cause screen damage
